Re: Tulane Wins Game 2 against LSU

Yes Alleva’s decision here but it hurts us. Personally I saw it coming. LSU dealing from a position of strength. So when Tulane declined TV it didn’t sit well with Alleva. So now we get this. Alleva gets last say. Agree totally. Other than a pay day, we get nothing out of this. We aren't getting an...

Re: Jake Gautreau named Asst coach at Miss St.

Fact is as a coach he failed at Tulane. He was here for 5 of the 6 straight years we didn’t go to the post season. Last place finishes. Not even making the conference tournament. Not good times. Don’t want to relive that. If you can’t handle discussing the matter in its entirety you need to stay of...

Re: Jake Gautreau named Asst coach at Miss St.

I'll give you some facts: RJ was the best coach in Tulane history. Jake was one of the finest players in Tulane history. He's well on his way in becoming one of the finer hitting coaches in the country. Basball America, D-1, ESPN commentators all can't be wrong. Travis Jewitt has led a once proud pr...

Re: Superdome / Benson Revenue

Contrary to popular belief, Benson was making it difficult on SMG when it came to Tulane playing the night before Saints games. I witnessed Sidwell walking around with a video camera filming garbage cans that were not emptied for Sunday game day. The Saints wanted zero events held in the dome on Sat...

Re: Jake Gautreau named Asst coach at Miss St.

Rough series for MSU's offense. In three of the four games they only scored a total of 5 runs. Can't win like that. JP , who could never crack the starting rotation there , was only called on to throw one inning. He only pitched one inning because he experienced shoulder pain. Hopefully it’s not se...

Incredible offensive performance today by State. The are owning #6 NC 12-2 going to the 9th. Gautreau deserves a ton of credit for this. Should they hold on here they will be one win from the CWS finals.
He won't be an assistant for long.

What we do know is all of those assistant coaches won immediately when they got here. The other guy, well we are still waiting. Selfishly, I'm glad Riser didn't get the job. Hopefully he will be a Greenie once again.

Re: Jake Gautreau named Asst coach at Miss St.

One can only dream but I would love to see Goat, Latham & AC running our program. That would be awesome, I'm sure we'd be competing at minimum for a regional most years. Still tough to recruit at Tulane due to high tuition and academics. Miss St can literally take anybody. No question abut that. We...

Re: JP France

Congrats to JP as he pitched Miss St today to a Regional Championship. JP started and went 7 complete innings giving up only one run and 2 hits on very little rest (he pitched Fri and Sunday). And the one run came on a strikeout that got on due to a dropped ball. Miss St beat OU 8-1 to win the Tall...

While you too argue over who's right and who's wrong, Tulane cashed another AAC check despite horrible results and as bad an overall athletic program in terms of funding, fan interest, brand and winning, as there is in the country. I continue to be embarrassed to wear my Tulane gear in public. Hey ...

Re: Pitching Coach Tighe Dickinson Resigns

As expected. It takes some of the heat off for now. It’s a risky job for a good coach. If the team loses next year everyone is gone. A guy like Daniel Latham would be a great hire but it’s probably too risky for him to make a move considering Riser will eventually get a better job and Daniel either...

Re: AAC Baseball Tourney Thread

Lafrance for one. Massey wouldn't have been a basket case also. And don't forget how good of a bat Zubia's could have been in our lineup along with his glove in the infield. We would have been better in all phases of the game to include bench coaching.

Re: AAC Baseball Tourney Thread

The longer losing is tolerated the less desirable this job becomes. If candidates believe that the administration doesn’t care about the success of the baseball program you are not going to attract a decent candidate. Dannen has a serious decision to make regarding the 54 year step backwards we hav...
