Re: Football Notebook

Thanks for the link, win. Good read. Fritz said returning senior punter Zach Block, who averaged 39.2 yards last year, will have to win an open competition with incoming freshman Ryan Wright to retain his job. I can only hope our punting game gets better with the arrival of Ryan Wright (my fingers ...

Thank you Steve for running this site. I primarily rely on this site for insider info on state of Tulane Athletics. I do like the new background of the Angry Wave and the site is looking more "modern".

Re: Spring Practice

Under the new rules it appears we are at the max and can't bring anyone else this season. Yikes. Fritz seems like he's building a solid program bottom up and this should be a corner turning year. However we're one knee/ankle/shoulder injury away from same old same old Tulane. Finally we get a disci...

Ryan just got his 14.5 mill deal from the Ravens nixed due to a failed physical. Re: Dishonest Question

Considering how crappy this program has been fo so long, this is just as bad as the death penalty. Worse I'd argue. All those top teams have shown that if you can put together 5/10 years of good to great basketball then you can get through the sanctions and retain the prestige. Louisville became a ...

What a disappointing last possession for the green wave. Ugly shot selection that led to an airball while coach Dunleavy is screaming to foul someone and players checked out.

Re: Football Recruiting 2018

I believe Tulane (and anyone else for that matter) can have as many "recruits" as they want. But only 25/yr. can be on scholarship. I assume the 75 additional Academy "recruits" are not on an athletic scholarship. I believe the Academics do not have tuition but stipends are paid (to all students). ...

Re: Melvin Frazier now projected 1st round pick

I'm no expert. But it seems to me he got hurt on a clean play by a player that's not as big as most NBA players , fighting through a pick. Another year of growth and filling out his body to his frame would do him well . As I've said elsewhere in this thread, I think the smart route would be to NOT ...

Re: Junior Diaz Gone

Biggest loss of the offseason. This creates a big hole in the middle of the O-Line. Diaz was instrumental in calling out the blocking assignments. We better coach someone up quickly to replace him. I wonder where he'll go for his PG year? Dain... Huge loss. He has been the most consistent linemen o...

I just want to make a damn bowl game... whether we are 6-6, 7-5, 8-4, just get us to a bowl game. By getting us to a bowl game will also show natural progression that our program is improving. Fritz year 1 4-8, Fritz year 2 5-7, Fritz year 3, ?. Let us not regress, but progress! Onward to a bowl gam...

The same cry was made last year when we lost Marley and Smart. 8 Players is a lot to lose, and Nickerson is the best we've had in the secondary (including Doss) in a long time. It's not like he didn't get beat at all this year. He did, and when we played good QB's with decent WR's, they didn't shy ...

Re: Post season analysis

Comparing Fritz and Frost is ridiculous. UCF has no admissions standards. They went 0-12 with those same standards. Well, when you also have the largest student body population to pull from, you're probably going to be sitting in a pretty good position especially when your state is a hot bed for fo...
