Re: Spring Practice

Most reasonable people feel like this team can win with Banks and this can be a very good season. The problem comes with Banks missing the smallest amount of game time. With the way he plays, it's hard to imagine him taking every snap. He plays hard and lays out for it on every play.

Re: Tulane loses the USF Series

I had to laugh because the other board is tracking RPI for some bizarre reason. The season is all over for practical purposes. The only reason to play it is to see if we qualify for the AAC tournament and where we are seeded if we qualify. We will have to win the tournament to get a bid. Going to b...

Re: Tulane loses to LSU 10-4

When you look at the bigger picture, you really have to wonder if Tulane can ever be highly competative again given the scholarship situation. The program has been in steady decline for 10 years through 3 coaches. Jones's last few years were terrible. Pierce had a little success but really didn't br...

Re: Temple ends Tulane's season 82-77 in the AAC Tourney

There has been a lot of assertion to the fact that we played better at mid season than at the end of the year. Somewhat true and it tends to coincide with Reynolds going stone cold and Frazier getting hurt. Is it fair to consider that as part of the reason? Dunleavy said before the season started th...

Re: Temple ends Tulane's season 82-77 in the AAC Tourney

There was a definite pattern that developed through the year. The team played hard and never gave up. They would fall behind then fight to get back and be in a position to win. The other team would make the big shot and Tulane would respond with a miss. It happened time and time again. We just didn'...

The way Banks plays, there is no way he takes every snap next year. He is going to get hurt at some point.

Re: Tulane loses 8-7 to UNO

The Jewitt haters are still in force, but at least we don't have to hear about how much better Cannizaro would have been anymore. Jewitt may or may not end up being a good hire, but it's far from certain at this point. The self-loathing Tulane army will just never give an inch. It used to be funny ...

Re: For what it's worth

They played good ball in the tourney, after playing terribly for prior 2 months. Changes needed. Players needed. They desperately need a quality point guard. The one they have signed in Florida looks outstanding with a tournament MVP award. They need quality size. Two girls signed over 6' 4", one a...

What round did "The Cutt" go in? Johnny Arthurs? Phil Hicks? anyone else? Tulane has never had a 1st round basketball pick. Hot ...

I wish this USF team had shown up at Devlin. This USF team looks like a winless conference team. We just caught them at Devlin on the one night they were really hot. They were unbelievable here.

Re: Tulane Sweeps Wright State Series

Wright St may turn out to be garbage. We’ll have to wait and see on them. The real RPI test will be this weekend on the road in Oxford. Pierce beat them up there in a Regional last time we went up there so let’s do it again. Jones also had a lot of success in Oxford. Hopefully Jewett can follow alo...

Williams of ECU shooting light ou and Frzazier with limited minutes or did not play (could not watch or listen to game), was the tale of the tape. Hope th teams can bring it to the Tigers this Sunday. Williams was hot but most of his shots were open looks. Frazier still playing less than 100%. If U...

Does anyone know if we've signed players today? Did the DT from Montgomery, AL that Guerry Smith discussed in yesterday's article sign? Info, we need info!
There is a signing day thread. Twitter says the DT, Alfred Thomas did sign this morning.

Re: Wave loses a tough one toTemple- 83-76

I agree that this team needs some more talent, but winning this game without Melvin Frazier was near impossible. Even with that, they almost pulled it off. It was an outstanding college basketball game with both teams going on runs and trading the lead. The outside shooting slump Reynolds has been i...

Re: Tulane Women Basketball

My feeling is that when we moved to the AAC, Coach Stockton was so focused on getting bigger, she neglected to make sure she had ball handlers. With Leslie Vorpahl in charge, it was probably easy to keep saying, "We'll get to that next year." This year is next year and there is no one currently capa...

Ok coach explain having no bigs back to deflect ball and having a foul to give and not instructing guys to foul on the catch. Of course the ECU player pushed off Cornish to give him the ability to catch the ball and get it up. Somebody please point out to me where Dunleavy excels at coaching. Certa...

Re: Embarrassing Home Loss to USF

Can someone please explain to me why Cornish gets so much pt? Dude is a very weak link. He is the worst shooter on the team and has the 2nd most turnovers. You are exactly right about Cornish being a weak spot. I think the key is Caleb Daniels but he is constantly in foul trouble. The last 2 games ...

Talk about shady reporting: Today's Advocate online has the following headline: "Privateers 'poor in every aspect' as UNO drops conference game 81-57 to Central Florida". The first paragraph or two talks about Central Florida making their way to a chilli Lakefront Arena. It's not until the middle o...

Re: 2018 D1 Baseball Poll

You are wrong. The strength of schedule is based on your opponents records and the records of their opponents. The RPI formula doesn’t even know if a team is ranked in the D1 baseball poll or any other poll for that matter. Of course there is a assumption-based bias in RPI. There has to be. The onl...

The gap between the AAC and Pac 12 isn't all that large. The gap between the AAC and the rest of the G5 is huge. You get the big money when people care about watching your games on TV. Actually not. We had an offense no one had seen and a defense that was opportunistic. You can trash the 98 team all you want but they deserved a chance for it all. If you look back at how it was set up, it was really the invention of the spread option run out of the shotgun, and you are right that ...

Re: Lindsey Scott commits to LSU now transferring to EMCC

If Scott comes to Tulane I'd Be surprised if he didn't take the starting job from Banks when it's all said and done. Maybe not by opening week but at some point in the season If he's better, and knows the offense as well as Banks does at the time, then it's a good problem to have. But Banks got a l...
