Re: Going to be a long spring and summer for AD Harris
I understand David Harris's position on Hunter. He has already had to hire a football coach under a stressful timeline. Now he has to decide what direction he wants to go with women's basketball because there is no coach. Hunter still has 2 years (I believe) on his existing contract. Why not see a f...

Re: Another NFL woke rule
Today, they announced a bizarre change to kickoffs that have both sides within 5 yards of each other. It presumably keeps players from hitting at full speed. There is no explanation of how onside kicks would work. Maybe they are making that illegal too. https://twitter.com/jjones9/status/17704934199...

Re: USM Beats Tulane 9-4
The Southern Miss batters were certainly hot last night against our bullpen, no doubt. We need more early offense to take the pressure off of the pitching staff. Most games, we don't put runs on the board until/after the 5th inning. There is definitely a pattern that has developed about falling beh...

Re: Another NFL woke rule
The ironic part is that this type of tackling is a direct reaction of not being able to use helmets anymore. This will probably lead to another method of bringing down ball carriers that exposes something else to injury. SHOCK: people sometimes get hurt playing football.

Re: Another NFL woke rule
I can't believe that the NFL remains popular. It's no longer a sport; it's an exhibition with totally subjective rules that apply to players differently, depending on who they are. The fact that people wager millions on this makes it even more preposterous.

Here is an article on what Kelly said about athletics and academics at LSU for his ESPN interview and the controversy his statements generated: https://lailluminator.com/2023/09/06/kelly-lsu/ I have never seen that article but it is definitely saying what we all know, out loud. That priority is als...

I was so tired of watching Banks fly out early in the season. Now it's worse because he doesn't even put it in play.

For the most part, baseball players would be happy to stay at schools like Tulane and Rice if scholarships made it more affordable to do so.

Re: Tulane in the new Metro 8
I will agree to disagree. I agree. It's giving UTSA credit for a TV market in which almost no one is watching UTSA. It's like promoting UNO because of the New Orleans TV market. UTSA's 2023 home attendance average was over 28,000 which would be considered sell outs at Yulman...what do U think that ...

Nice to get so deep into their bullpen. The big lead allowed us to pull Moore and maybe get a few pitches out of him Sunday.

Banks really has no clue how to put the bat on the ball. He just guesses and swings as hard as he can.

It looks really dark in Reckling Park. You can barely see the walls and can't see anything beyond them. Looks very inadequate.

Re: Stockton Retires
Most successful coach in Tulane athletics history. For those with short memories, we made the WNIT 3 seasons in-a-row prior to this one and advanced in two of them. For comparison the Men's team hasn't made the NIT in 24 years. Where is the notion coming from that it is somehow easier for Tulane to...

If Hunter is such a damn good "coach" how come no other school has called for his services, that tells ya all ya need to know, and less..... Hunter is a fukin disaster ... I am all for getting rid of Hunter as well, but you don't know that no other schools inquired about getting him. He h...

I think Houston has surpassed Chicago as the 3rd largest metro area. With the recent news that Chicago is the only major city to actually lose residents in the past 10 years, it's probably guaranteed.

We have changes coming to the ACC; an even bigger realignment coming with the Big Split; and Tulane continues to limp around with the Ron Hunter Ball & Chain around its ankle--unreal. Tulane is not going to lose a conference invite because the conference doesn't like our coach. Of course not. B...

If you haven't seen the presser, it's worth watching. She has incredible stats. Also, there must have been occasions where she was mentioned for other jobs, but never left. Coaches Uhlman and Sumrall were there but Hunter was not. I would hope that he's out of town, because he certainly should have ...
