Re: VB in NATIONAL INVITATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP

This NIVC incarnation is only in it's second year, and both times, the home team won the championship (Ole Miss last year). The NIVC may not have the money now, but in order to maintain a legitimate tournament, being the home team can't guarantee a championship. The basketball NIT lets teams play ga...

Re: New AAC TV deal

If the Big 12 expands, it will be for TV market. There really is no other reason in today's environment. Geographicly, Florida doesn't work very well. Texas schools don't really get them anything extra. Memphis has already been rebuffed academically. Cinncinati and Temple bring TV market and a neigh...

As good as it was, all the games were at Devlin. That's quite an advantage. Winnng the championship on the road would be an incredible statement.

Re: South Alabama Wallops The Wave 81-60

This team has no point guard. Without that, it's hard to judge the rest of the pieces because they can't get down the floor and can't get the offense set up. Cornish is an absolute turnover machine. Barrett may be a legit point guard at some point, but he isn't now. They hoped Ona Embo would be rea...

Re: The 25 Worst College Football Stadiums

In spite of the Yulman haters, when my son and I would talk to other AAC fans in Yulman, they really liked it. It's not an ancient block of concrete like so many other college stadiums, especially the ones on the list.

Re: Tulane vs ULL Cure Bowl

Well tough shit. We're going to the Cure Bowl, and it's about as big an airline hub as there is in the world, so there's no excuse that it's hard to get to. If you have to put up with kids on the plane when your fly there, tough titty. This is about the most ridiculous conversation in this board's ...

Re: Tulane vs ULL Cure Bowl

This will be one of the lowest attended and watched bowl games, maybe ever. Too many participation trophy bowls that 6-6 teams are basically guaranteed a post-season game. I just hope we don't go out and get embarrassed Sad but true. This is a prime example of too many bowl games. I’m sorry but I’m...

Re: Georgia State Beats Tulane 80-76

What's more worrisome is that he has been complaining about that since he got here. The solution is changing up the practice routine to address these problems. Seems he's too stuck in his ways. A problem with that is that there are often 3-4 freshmen on the floor and whatever he has been saying bef...

Re: Volleyball Post Season Thread!

It was really a tough match. I was watching the live stats during that miserable Saints game. All the sets were really close except the 4th. The Tulane women went on a 5-0 run to win the 5th set 15-13. That's something you would only expect from an experienced team (which this isn't). Very well done...

I don't know what's funnier-- posters calling for the hiring of disgraced has-been coaches/ unqualified letterman, or thinking they're the second coming of Bill Walsh when it comes to playcalling. They are equally funny and frequent. Given the recent legal disputes with Bud's Broiler, are you buyin...

For me, it is very satifying to watch a 5-6 minute drive down the field, with the defense on their heels and getting worn down for the 4th quarter. That's winning football.

Re: Georgia State Game

Wave loses again 80-76. The freshmen are really playing a lot. Not having Ona Embo is a killer for a team that needs leadership at that position. Zhang had 23. The odd thing is that Sehic is all of a sudden not playing a major role (20 minutes, 4 points today). Hopefully the women will shine tonight.

Re: Ruse is out--Search for new OC has begun

You have to wonder what happened to Ruse. Was it the two years at Ga Southern, where he tried to incorporate the triple-option into his scheme? If you read his bio from 10 years ago at Arkansas State, he seems like he was doing well. He's been an OC for almost 30 years, and he was even a QB in high...

Re: Ruse is out--Search for new OC has begun

Given the difficulty this program has had recruiting QBs, Fritz is obviously looking for something that fits the QBs he has and the QBs he can get. Not only does he want to win, he just proved he wants to win at Tulane.

Great opportunity for us to get a football series with UNC as well as additional MBB series....
Given how far ahead the schedules are already made, it's hard to imagine Mack would still be there when a potential series would happen.

Re: How Many Regular Season Games Will Tulane Win?

First, the complaint was that we couldn't win more than 2-3 games a year and were getting blown out regularly. We win 4 games in year 1, and 5 games in year 2. Then the complaint was that we couldn't do what it takes to get to a bowl game and we still occasionally get blown out by better conference ...

Very few programs could ever be consistent 10-game winners. That is a ridiculous expectation that will leave a person ever-angry and disappointed (hey, that sounds familiar on this site). Absolutely true that lower P5s don't consider their programs as failures because they can't win conference. They...

We are as athletic and as good as the ‘98 team but running a vanilla O. After beating Navy-we do need a change in O philosophy But, we don’t have a Shaun King?
