Tulane defense has given up 17 points in regulation in each of the first 2 games. Why should anyone think UAB will put up twice that many?

Re: No mention of WWL TV Willie Fritz coaches show

No show on this past Sunday night. Quietly disappeared. That’s too bad. Not directed at you specifically TPS, or anyone else here for that matter, but man, it sure seems at times that Wave fans are amazingly passive when it comes to this stuff. "Quietly disappeared". I'm guessing there was zero new...

Re: Nicholls St. Game Thread

Wow, talk about anemic arm tackling by Kansas. I've seen girl flag football players with more toughness and drive than those guys. Truly pathetic, the Kansas defense acted like it didn't even want to be on the field. This Kansas team my be destined for 0-12. Watch the corner try to set the edge and...

Re: No WWL TV Willie Fritz coaches show

The past few years, the show was on WWL on Sunday nights at 11:30 PM, or later (depending on if CBS NFL games ran late) with no opportunity to re-play it on the WWL website or anywhere else. That's almost like not playing it at all. Only retired people could stay up that late and most probably are n...

Re: Wake Forest wins in OT 23-17

I am tired of seeing how both TDs were on busted plays. They were certainly not. The first was a scramble play, not a busted play, but the distinction can be argued. The second was clearly a called pump and go. The corner had been jumping that route and almost picked one off earlier. You can see Ban...

We better beat the hell out of Nicholls but that won't prove anything.
This is a great line from a typical poster. We need to beat Nicholls decisively, but even if we do, I will still be complaining. Even winning isn't good enough.

Re: Wake Forest wins in OT 23-17

I would agree with most comments (the reasonable ones) about the offense in that is was puzzling why we didn't try to run outside more. There was some success there the times we did it, but it didn't seem to be part of the game plan. Also, where are all the clowns who have been screaming for 2 years...

Jeff Duncan's take https://www.nola.com/expo/sports/erry-2018/08/66da70ac7b6617/how-many-games-will-tulane-win.html#incart_river_index Basically saying 80% of our games are tossups, not making any bold predictions.....even Nicholls he has a 1 score game! I hope he learns the offense as quickly as he learned how to negotiate a quick diploma from LSU. Remember, folks, he's an LSU alumnus. If nothing else, this kid had the discipline to stick with his classes and do what he had to do to get his degree... in 3 years. That's not easy no matter what you'...

They never learn because it's a different kid each time. Every kid thinks he's the exception, the star.

Re: Football Recruiting -- 2019

It's unfortunate, because most 3* recruits will have a better chance of getting playing time, and developing as a player, at a G5 school. They get seduced by P5, which increases their chances of watching games from the sideline. What % of Tulane's 3* players have made NFL rosters, compared to the 3...

Re: Football Recruiting -- 2019

I don't pay attention to any of the early commitments. It's interesting in that it gives insight as to who the coaches are talking to and what level of player is actually willing to listen. Other than that, it's just background noise of 18-year-olds spouting off.

Directly, winning has little to do with getting into the "P Club". The primary requirement for an individual school getting into a P conference is it's ability to generate revenue--from filling at least 40,000 seats each weekend, to attracting hundreds of thousands, if not millions, of TV viewers. ...

Whether it's right or not (almost certainly not), you market your university with your athletic dept (predominantly football). That's just the way it is. Most reasonable people feel like this team can win with Banks and this can be a very good season. The problem comes with Banks missing the smallest amount of game time. With the way he plays, it's hard to imagine him taking every snap. He plays hard and lays out for it on every play.

I had to laugh because the other board is tracking RPI for some bizarre reason. The season is all over for practical purposes. When you look at the bigger picture, you really have to wonder if Tulane can ever be highly competative again given the scholarship situation. The program has been in steady decline for 10 years through 3 coaches. Jones's last few years were terrible. Pierce had a little success but really didn't br...

Re: Temple ends Tulane's season 82-77 in the AAC Tourney

There has been a lot of assertion to the fact that we played better at mid season than at the end of the year. Somewhat true and it tends to coincide with Reynolds going stone cold and Frazier getting hurt. Is it fair to consider that as part of the reason? Dunleavy said before the season started th...
