Re: 2018 D1 Baseball Poll

You are wrong. The strength of schedule is based on your opponents records and the records of their opponents. The RPI formula doesn’t even know if a team is ranked in the D1 baseball poll or any other poll for that matter. Of course there is a assumption-based bias in RPI. There has to be. The onl...

Re: Big XII Expansion

The gap between the AAC and Pac 12 isn't all that large. The gap between the AAC and the rest of the G5 is huge. You get the big money when people care about watching your games on TV. On a typical football Saturday there are between 4 and 8 games to choose from in most homes. Why would someone wan...

Re: UCF

Actually not. We had an offense no one had seen and a defense that was opportunistic. You can trash the 98 team all you want but they deserved a chance for it all. If you look back at how it was set up, it was really the invention of the spread option run out of the shotgun, and you are right that ...

Re: Lindsey Scott commits to LSU now transferring to EMCC

If Scott comes to Tulane I'd Be surprised if he didn't take the starting job from Banks when it's all said and done. Maybe not by opening week but at some point in the season If he's better, and knows the offense as well as Banks does at the time, then it's a good problem to have. But Banks got a l...

Maybe this will finally stop the endless posts about not hiring Rodriguez in the previous century. It's long past time to move on from talking about that.

Tulane women Bball vs Tulsa

The Tulane women beat Tulsa on the road 72-63 in one of those odd weekday games that seem to be becoming more frequent. For a sport that struggles with attendance, I don't get it. Also, I have noticed that Tene Thompson has not been on a game roster since December 17. Anyone know what happened with ...

Re: Tulane Women Basketball vs USF

The USF women's basketball program is built as a European basketball farm system. Of their 12 players, 8 are from Europe, 4 are Americans. That's the way Coach Fernandez builds his team and they are very good. Tulane could certainly do that if they chose to. Tulane signed a girl for 2017 from the Sp...

Great move. More of us should have thought of approaching the conflict from that direction.

Re: Tulane whips Temple 85-75

Some expressed disappointment at letting Temple get close a few times and I agree that it added unwanted anxiety. However, when they overcome it and win by hitting free throws, getting key blocks and breaking presses with dunks, it builds for the next time.

The bottom line is that the teams are fun to watch and only when they play elite programs do you figure it as a loss. Eventually, I expect that to change as well.

Re: La Tech destroys SMU 51-10

Ex Tulane WR Teddy Veal looked pretty good tonight for La Tech. I would say< When did he leave and anyone know why? He left when we hired Fritz. Like many others, he got the impression that we were going to a triple option offense similar to the academies. Didn't help when all the media kept callin...

When I saw that Wofford beat UNC, I knew this thread would be back. The chronic complainers didn't have much to say yesterday on FB signing day so this was an obvious landing spot. If somebody else could beat UNC, Tulane is horrible if they didn't do it. Yeah, yeah we all know the routine. Wofford h...

Re: Early NSP

We only move up if our best can beat their best. That's why the UCF/Auburn game is SO important. The AAC has to start showing the ability to play defense. These 62-55 games are not really quality football. You get up to go to the bathroom and each team has already scored again. You can't beat good t...

Re: Football Recruiting 2018

I will bet that something happens with moving this date next year. December 20 put a heavy burden on schools that had to hire new head coaches. It's one thing if you are firing your coach; you can do advanced work to know who you want to hire before the actual firing. The problem is for the team tha...

I'm assuming there's a dead period the next day or two like the Feb signing period? Yes.It will be the whole week. They can communicate electronically just not in person. Re: Leeward Brown 3 star OL original Miami commit

From past discussions I don't think it impacts Tulane if they leave in good academic standing. As for Brown I hope things work out for him. He backed up Briggs who some say was our weakest link on this weak unit and yet he couldn't regain his starting spot. I have said before that WF does everythin...

From what I saw on Twitter, GC is looking for someplace else to play next year as a grad transfer. I not only don't blame him one bit, I wish him well. I hope he finds a home where he can play out his last year of eligibility. He won't see the field at Tulane next year, and he deserves a chance to ...

Re: Coaching Changes

Chad Morris is headng to Arkansas. SMU's on the hunt again. I wonder if Morris gets this job if Banks is ruled to have gotten into the end zone. Without that win, SMU is 6-6, not 7-5. Perception-wise, 7-5 is a lot better. Also, Morris's record at SMU would be 13-23. As it is, 14-22 is pretty weak. ...

Re: Lindsey Scott commits to LSU now transferring to EMCC

There is no doubt that had Scott come to Tulane in 2016, things for him and Tulane would have been VERY different. It's not a stretch to think Tulane goes to a bowl game his first year. That being said, things have changed. Had Scott been on the roster, Banks isn't here. Banks has some limitations b...
