Re: Another QB commit.....

why is a left handed QB more confusing.... ? On passing the ball has an opposite spin and rotation. Rushing he’d probably favor a left pitch. I would think the offense would shift to favor a lefty pitching and passing. Meaning instead of mostly running the option right they’d probably want to run m...

I saw that chatter going on during the game and was wondering why the referee did not step in immediately. Now I know it's because it was apparently deemed "friendly".

Re: Tulane beats SLU 89-66

Including the exhibitions Tulane has played four games and scored at least 80 points in each of them. That’s imprressive, regardless of who you are playing. Tulane shot above 50% in the two regular season match-ups. Tulane, in its second year with Coach Mike Dunleavy are making shots that the were ...

Re: Ladies Basketball Early Signee's

This team is getting a lot bigger. Coach Stockton has said that having UConn in the conference is a net positive because the semi-automatic losses are more than made up for by increased interest of better recruits. We may be seeing those results. Coming close to beating them last year didn't hurt ei...

Re: Next year will be worse

Oh no!!! This can't be!!! Tulane is not allowed to get more players like other teams do? Maybe the other schools just keep their good players as long as they want. The NCAA needs to get to the bottom of this. I wonder if Coach Fritz knew about this when he took the job.

Re: Cincy Game Thread

A lot of people talking about how "bad" Cincinnati is. I don't see that in their body of work. They are certainly not good, but scores seems mostly respectable. I am expecting a win because we tend to play well at home and I think we are better than we are being given credit for (especiall...

Re: Tulane kicks LSU's ass 84-74

The Advocate has only one story about this game and apparently it was more of an LSU loss than a Tulane win. In fact, nowhere in the story does it actually say that Tulane won the game. The reader is told several times that LSU lost to someone and they were playing Tulane, so if you are capable of s...

Re: Tulane crushed by Memphis 56-26

There's a LOT of complaining from many of the usual suspects on this site about Tulane's record, coaching, administration, fans, etc, etc, etc. Let's take a realistic look at what this team has experienced in the last 2 months. Four of the 8 teams they have played are currently 7-1; Grambling was a ...

Re: Tulane crushed by Memphis 56-26

Myself and others said before the season that we could be a better team and still finish with 4 or 5 wins , and we'd be ok with that. So here we are , record wise, right there. But we are a really bad football team in all phases and getting worse by the week. So disappointing. all I really wanted t...

My understanding was that the administration wanted it to shoot water on the students after each score but (as usual) attorneys nixed that idea as too much of a legal liability. The fallback position was to have it mist over the students. Maybe the attorneys crushed that as well.

Pretty much all that needs to be said about this game has been said. Just one thought crossed my mind. How much different would the reaction be, had we taken care of business at FIU? I think the "we've turn the corner" argument goes into full effect. This was actually a pretty good result...

Re: USF Game Day Thread

I thought the turning point in the game was Tulane's second-to-last possession in the first half. There was about 3 mins left and we got the ball around the Tulane 20. Instead of being aggressive, we seemed to go into an offensive shell with the play selection. I guess they expected to just run out ...

I can't believe how man are STILL complaining that this team/offense runs too much. The starting QB just finished a game 5 of 16 for 36 yds passing. Maybe, just maybe, Coach Fritz and Coach Ruse are not real comfortable opening up a passing attack yet in this program. We have a lot of talent at RB a...

Re: FIU GameDay Thread

It kind of shows the difference when you play against a professional coach. Davis knew how to take away Banks as a runner and force him to throw. We can probably expect to see a lot more of this. While I agree it's Fritz's worse loss at Tulane, you can't beat anyone when your QB goes 5 of 16 for 36 ...

Re: Mike Leach says CFB should have a real playoff, not 4 teams

When someone can show me a case where the best team in the country was not included in the 4-team playoff, I will reconsider. When high schools start travelling across the country for playoffs and conducting week-long media sessions, they can be compared to the NCAA. For the NFL, it's a profession. ...

Re: Tulane destroys the Hurricane- 62-28

Things needing improvement were: The personal foul penalties. They need to be eliminated. Lucky we were able to overcome them against Tulsa. And another missed PAT. That makes 4 misses in 5 games. No wonder we don’t try FG’s. Got outscored again in the 2nd half. (Grambling only team we outscored). ...

On the long runs today, the down field blocking by the WRs was outstanding. They absolutely had their guys locked up, without holding.

Re: Tulsa Game Thread

Given the number of camps and exposure, it boggles the mind that Tulane can't find D1 quality kickers and punters. BOGGLES. You make it sound like Tulane is the only school with this issue. Block is currently #94 of #125 D1 punters. He hasn't had one blocked this season, and there's 13 P5 schools (...

Re: Tulsa Score Prediction Thread

The weather system heading for the Gulf Coast this weekend may play a role. For all the complaining about the Fritz offense, it should hold up pretty well in marginal weather. I certainly wouldn't expect a pick 6 to lead to a 7-3 bad-weather defeat as was the case against UConn in the CJ era.
