And really, here's a third QB that could have played a lot under Fritz, Ty Pigrome. Messy situation in Maryland.. When will these kids learn?
They never learn because it's a different kid each time. Every kid thinks he's the exception, the star.

Didn't really have a spot for this but it's Tulane Football 2018 and it starts here, so... Saw these blue helmets on response to Breylon Garcia "offer blessing".
Are these helmets a real thing? I like it. https://twitter.com/TFB_Edits/status/10 ... 87584?s=19

Re: Line Opens Wake Forest 7.5 pts. > Wave

Just wondering, this is the same OC and Wake Forest team that scored "7" whole points on us just 24 games ago? That's the same one. It's really been comical watching the doomsayers on this site talk about Wake running up the score and having this big shootout. They live for gloom and can NEVER admi...

Re: Football Recruiting -- 2019

It's unfortunate, because most 3* recruits will have a better chance of getting playing time, and developing as a player, at a G5 school. They get seduced by P5, which increases their chances of watching games from the sideline. What % of Tulane's 3* players have made NFL rosters, compared to the 3...

Re: Football Recruiting -- 2019

I don't pay attention to any of the early commitments. It's interesting in that it gives insight as to who the coaches are talking to and what level of player is actually willing to listen. Other than that, it's just background noise of 18-year-olds spouting off.

Re: AAC Attempts at Power Status

Directly, winning has little to do with getting into the "P Club". The primary requirement for an individual school getting into a P conference is it's ability to generate revenue--from filling at least 40,000 seats each weekend, to attracting hundreds of thousands, if not millions, of TV viewers. ...

Re: The Never Ending Gift of Cowen

Whether it's right or not (almost certainly not), you market your university with your athletic dept (predominantly football). That's just the way it is. Cowen was swimming upstream to the egghead elites that would pat him on the head and tell him what a noble guy he was even though it bankrupted hi...

Re: Spring Practice

Most reasonable people feel like this team can win with Banks and this can be a very good season. The problem comes with Banks missing the smallest amount of game time. With the way he plays, it's hard to imagine him taking every snap. He plays hard and lays out for it on every play.

Re: Tulane loses the USF Series

I had to laugh because the other board is tracking RPI for some bizarre reason. The season is all over for practical purposes. The only reason to play it is to see if we qualify for the AAC tournament and where we are seeded if we qualify. We will have to win the tournament to get a bid. Going to b...

Re: Tulane loses to LSU 10-4

When you look at the bigger picture, you really have to wonder if Tulane can ever be highly competative again given the scholarship situation. The program has been in steady decline for 10 years through 3 coaches. Jones's last few years were terrible. Pierce had a little success but really didn't br...

Re: Temple ends Tulane's season 82-77 in the AAC Tourney

There has been a lot of assertion to the fact that we played better at mid season than at the end of the year. Somewhat true and it tends to coincide with Reynolds going stone cold and Frazier getting hurt. Is it fair to consider that as part of the reason? Dunleavy said before the season started th...

Re: Temple ends Tulane's season 82-77 in the AAC Tourney

There was a definite pattern that developed through the year. The team played hard and never gave up. They would fall behind then fight to get back and be in a position to win. The other team would make the big shot and Tulane would respond with a miss. It happened time and time again. We just didn'...

The Jewitt haters are still in force, but at least we don't have to hear about how much better Cannizaro would have been anymore. Jewitt may or may not end up being a good hire, but it's far from certain at this point. The self-loathing Tulane army will just never give an inch. It used to be funny ...

They played good ball in the tourney, after playing terribly for prior 2 months. Changes needed. Players needed. They desperately need a quality point guard. The one they have signed in Florida looks outstanding with a tournament MVP award. They need quality size. Two girls signed over 6' 4", one a...

Wright St may turn out to be garbage. We’ll have to wait and see on them. The real RPI test will be this weekend on the road in Oxford. I agree that this team needs some more talent, but winning this game without Melvin Frazier was near impossible. Even with that, they almost pulled it off. It was an outstanding college basketball game with both teams going on runs and trading the lead. The outside shooting slump Reynolds has been i...

Re: Tulane Women Basketball

My feeling is that when we moved to the AAC, Coach Stockton was so focused on getting bigger, she neglected to make sure she had ball handlers. With Leslie Vorpahl in charge, it was probably easy to keep saying, "We'll get to that next year." This year is next year and there is no one currently capa...
