Re: Revised 2017 American football schedules

Credit to Aresco and credit to the conference members for not letting ego and pettiness get in the way of helping each other out. It makes it easier for members to make safety decisions in the future when they know the president and other members will work with them and support their decisions.

Re: Winning Does

Interesting notes from ESPN FPI: - projected wins: 5.9 - 6.1 - 26th most efficient Defense - 1.9% chance to beat OU - 1.0% chance to win the conference That says something. Twice as likely to beat Oklahoma as we are to win the AAC. Not sure WHAT it says, but it says something. It says lig...

Re: Navy 23 - Tulane 21

Brantley was very good. He came in and gave the team a big lift. He's improved a lot from last year. If he could only develop his passing game. No way in hell can anyone blame this loss on Banks going down. This is what Tulane does every year. We have a pivotal game that's there for the taking a we...

Re: Navy 23 - Tulane 21

The bogus holding penalty was very big. Also, how long does a coach have to change his mind after deciding on a penalty? I don't think I have ever seen a referee make the call and the teams come on the field, then the coach decides to change his mind. The difference in points was that absolutely stu...

:?: Here's the OOC schedule: http://tulanegreenwave.com/news/2017/8/23/mens-basketball-releases-2017-18-non-conference-slate.aspx The home schedule is pure garbage. Dropping UNO is embarrassing. Set up so Dunleavy can double his win total from last year. Not worth buying season tickets. Is there EVE...

Re: We're number 1...kinda, sorta

Is my memory failing, or did they replace the turf and do other improvements at Turchin between fall ball and the start of the regular season? Regardless, baseball is clearly NOT the most popular sport on campus. Some people just cannot move beyond the fact that AC was not hired. It's time to move ...

Re: We're number 1...kinda, sorta

Hell no. What resources? Baseball doesn't get any resources. But Dannen would love nothing more than to kill the most popular sport on campus like he did at his last stop. And it would not help us win anyway. How do you measure popularity on campus? The same way Rick Dickson counts "capacity'&...

Re: We're number 1...kinda, sorta

It's interesting to analyze the ratings in that the highest AAC team is USF at 60. It's essentially the top 11 of each P5 conference (and ND) then the rest. The AAC has positions 60, 61, 66, 69 and 72. It demonstrates how difficult it is to break into that upper echelon. You can't schedule enough P5...

Doesn't appear to me any current players were drafted in the first 10 rounds. Anyone know if incoming recruits were drafted yet either? Nope. Blame Pierce. :o Just kidding. Anyone else saw Doug Mouton's piece last night on the 10 PM news about Dannen hiring Jewett over Cannizaro and Riser? It asked a lot of the questions asked here frequently and was pretty hard-hitting. He brought up the fact that Cannizaro or Riser was a no-brainer choice, yet Dannen went with a guy ...

For those who insist on more local recruiting, that will certainly further the academic slide. To be 6th in the conference is embarrassing. Obviously the other teams in the conference are getting better players who are better students. Let's go get those guys; I don't care what state they are from.

For all of those who have already given up on Coach Fritz and the upcoming season, maybe you would be happier if Tulane gave up football completely. Think about how much less anxiety you would have. If not that, maybe we can just forfeit all of the 2017 games now and just keep forfeiting year after ...

I am not surprised about the beauty of it. The West course was a spectacular place to play as a design. It was the condition that made it a disappointment.
