Re: Ade

Saw it, too. Terrible news. I love that kid. He cost himself some money moving inside his senior year but he did it for his team. Praying it’s not serious, but it looked bad. Yes, this was a big concern of mine last year. WF took a kid that looked freakishly good his junior year and made him a non ...

Re: Line Opens Wake Forest 7.5 pts. > Wave

Many great coaches have said "a short, quick pass is like a long handoff". That's been said in this thread numerous times, yet everyone keeps saying I want to run the ball 80% of the time in this game. Nothing could be further from the truth. I want to play ball control. That's not the same thing. ...

Re: Line Opens Wake Forest 7.5 pts. > Wave

WF had a great offense last year. True if WF = Wake Forest.. False if WF = Willie Fritz And while poking fun at the Wake team of 2 years ago that managed 10 first downs, 175 total yards and a measily 7 points against us, no doubt that this is a better WF offense now. Even without their starting QB. ...

Just wondering, this is the same OC and Wake Forest team that scored "7" whole points on us just 24 games ago?
Ha! And with only 10 first downs and a measly 175 yards of total offense...

Probably because we ran the ball 67% of the time and controlled the clock. Earned us a whopping 3 points...

Re: Lines Opens Wake Forest 7.5 pts. > Wave

I'm not saying we should go 80% run or even 70% run. But to run the ball effectively keeps their best weapon, their offense, on the sidelines, while our worst unit, or at least most suspect coming into the season, on the sides and well rested. I'm not and nor have I ever espoused going back to the ...

Re: Lines Opens Wake Forest 7.5 pts. > Wave

Just running the ball doesn't guarantee controlling the ball. We still have a suspect line and new RB's. It could lead to 3 and outs or empty drives. If we're going to win significant games this year we need to score a lot of points. No one said we need to be 50-50 but we can't be 80-20 run centric...

Re: Tulane/LSU baseball series

That being said, I always walk away from listening to a Troy Dannen interview thinking of how much better off Tulane is with him as our AD than the previous AD. The frustrating part is that he says the right things but it hasn't translated to winning. I also felt all 3 of his hires seemed solid. Bu...

Re: Signing Day Thread 2018

Damien Tate, kid from New Orleans that Fritz has raved about, tweeted today that he is taking the ACT. That would lead me to believe that he is not yet academically qualified. Hope it goes well. Any insight on whether academics are the reason Tate has decided to reopen his recruitment and attend JC...

you think if he had worn jersey #30 or lower he would have gone in the first round? Coincidence that he wore 35 and went 35th? I think not.

Re: Melvin Frazier now projected 1st round pick

This will impact recruiting in a major way. That's been debated throughout this thread. I'm not sure it's really going to help, as his strongest point--playing D--is not anything that Dunleavy stresses. Dunleavy did improve his shot dramatically, but I don't know that Melvin going in the first roun...

https://i.imgur.com/gBXna4B.jpg The board has become unreadable. If our crappy teams haven't chased fans from this board, then these ridiculous attacks will. By the way, how funny (or sad) is it that the trait that Melvin claims is his best, defense, is something Dunleavy doesn't even teach. Thank ...

The longer losing is tolerated the less desirable this job becomes. If candidates believe that the administration doesn’t care about the success of the baseball program you are not going to attract a decent candidate. Dannen has a serious decision to make regarding the 54 year step backwards we hav...

Crabtree signing with Tulane https://twitter.com/C_crab5/status/984042711819923457?s=09 Pleasantly surprised. The program needed this. Takes us from 11th best class in the AAC to 11th best class in the AAC. Doom and gloom aside, it is a nice win over Memphis and hopefully the kid is as underrated a...

I don’t know what the hell we can do if they even want to do anything. It’s as big a dumpster fire as baseball right now though. Crabtree or not. What can we do... That's the problem with the swing and miss hire of a respected NBA coach... Keep him and continue losing but pump up the promise of bet...

I just looked at the remaining baseball schedule and I realistically see us finishing out the regular season 24-31. Jewett will get a 3rd year but will be forced to replace some guys on his staff (pitching coach) most likely. Unless some of these recruits perform much better year 3 will be no diffe...
