Re: Lindsey Scott

All is quiet on the Lindsey front. I think he now has all P5 offers he is ever going to receive. So apparently, since he is a graduate JUCO, the general cut-off date for late student registration for the Spring Semester is the true deadline for finally ending the "Saga of Lindsey," one wa...

Re: 1998 National Champs!

Because it’s bush league as f**k to do so I kind of agree with drunk MsDos. Claiming a national title seems a little like claiming this was a bowl-game year. Our peer schools would probably be amused by this. I can imagine the quotes on their forums: "That's the only championship Tulane will w...

Re: Big XII Expansion

not sure why the Big 12 needs expansion...the NCAA caved and gave them a championship game...split the money 10 ways...while I do think they need a "link' to WVU, I don't think they are losing sleep over it Well, the Big 12’s only real issue is recruiting in that they could really benefit from...

Re: Tulane and Notre Dame

Actually the scheduling to 2037 is their 5 games a year against ACC teams. They do have openings. If we continue to progress we should see if they'd make it part of the Shamrock Series. They play non conference Navy, Stanford and USC every year so that free’s up only one other non conference spot e...

Re: Tulane and Notre Dame

A Tulane two for one with Notre Dame would be really great, and, regardless of whether or not Notre Dame's AD and Coach realizes this not, but it is not oblivious to losing to G5 teams.

Re: Coaching Changes

It's shameful that SMU replaced Morris with Dykes. SMU and UCF each had an opportunity for huge hires and they both blew it. That's not to say that their coaches won't work out, but it is to say that there were better options available at the time. I hope that SMU is happy with Dykes given how bad ...

It's the whole SEC perception for high schoolers. He's going to receive a big wake up call when he realizes the implications of Missouri's OC leaving in the offseason.

Re: Fritz on verge of extension

Fritz has earned cautious optimism at this point, as there are signs of significant progress (5 wins this season/2018 recruiting class) but there are still occasional signs regression (losses to FIU and Cincinnati/2017 recruiting class). However, all he needs to do is put together a complete season ...

Re: Leeward Brown 3 star OL original Miami commit

From past discussions I don't think it impacts Tulane if they leave in good academic standing. As for Brown I hope things work out for him. He backed up Briggs who some say was our weakest link on this weak unit and yet he couldn't regain his starting spot. I have said before that WF does everythin...

Re: Coaching Changes

Morris brought in his P5 and JUCO mercenaries for a short term pop, which he barely got with the hideous goal line call. He will definitely cash in with the first offer he gets. I agree, him going to Arkansas says a lot more about where Arkansas stands than where Morris stands--similar to the embar...

Re: Coaching Changes

That’s true, but one could say the same thing about Chad Morris. It’s true that SMU is bowl eligible this year, but that’s not a big deal for that program. This is their 5th bowl team in over 30 years. SMU hasn't fielded a ranked team (end of season), without cheating, in nearly 50 years. Morris' C...

Re: Coaching Changes

I can't believe this is even a conversation. WF is not going anywhere. He won't interview for the job. He hasn't accomplished anything worthy of someone offering him another job. He has improved the culture and to some degree the talent, but nobody hires you for a D1 football job on those merits. G...

Re: Coaching Changes

SMU should just hire Sumlin or Kiffin (or Meacham!) at this point, but, given how the AAC has made curious hires over the last couple of years (i.e. UCF and Houston), SMU may find a way to bypass big name coaches and hire a nobody.

Re: Coaching Changes

Here ya go. Don't know how much truth there is to it. http://footballscoop.com/the-scoop/ I guess Tulane pay is near the bottom. With WF making $1.2 million. http://sports.usatoday.com/ncaa/salaries/ Looks like Tulane is slightly ahead of ECU, USF and UConn in salary. Temple doesn't report on this ...

Re: Coaching Changes

I just really hope that, no matter what coaches end up leaving the AAC (i.e. Norvell/Strong/etc.), the AAC decides to make some flashy hires of the Kiffin/Sumlin/Miles/Meacham variety.

Re: UCF/Memphis

Isn't LSU Law higher ranked than Tulane? I know I see posts from time to time about how their rate of passing the Bar exam blows away Tulane's. They did pass the bar at a higher % than Tulane law but the latest had Tulane up. LSU wins 2015 http://www.lsu.edu/mediacenter/news/2015/10/09barexam.eb.ph...

Re: Coaching Changes

Take away games against non-P5 schools and there would be a lot of P5s sitting home not going bowling. I think a lot of them play the smoke and mirrors thing. Get 3 OOC wins, split your conf every year and you're 7-5. Win the bowl game every other year and some years your 8-5, some 7-6. That's how ...

You guys act like expecting us to compete with other D1 schools is unheard of. You do realize we're no longer in the shitty C-USA? We play Wichita State, Cincinnati, Temple, Houston, UCF, SMU? Those teams expect to compete with UNC, they don't care what name is their jersey. We play in a conference...

Re: Coaching Changes

To provide context, Sumlin is the #5 coach in Texas A&M history, as, for one reason or another, Texas A&M has consistently underperformed.
