Re: Oklahoma Game Thread

Houston went up to OU and beat them last year and they remained in the hunt for a possible playoff game until a late falloff. Playing Oklahoma was great. Playing Ohio St will be great. The first Qtr “showed” you what we are capable of doing. If we beat Ohio St next year perhaps you’d feel different...

Re: Oklahoma Game Thread

Impossible to build a program when you're getting your teeth kicked in. Ole Miss and Georgia Tech are much better games than Oklahoma and Ohio State. No way the money we get is worth it. Tulane football badly needs some confidence. These games destroy confidence. Playing with Ole Miss to the wire w...

I wonder how LSU’s Alleva stays employed. https://www.cbssports.com/college-football/news/nebraska-fires-ad-shawn-eichorst-after-struggles-in-football-basketball/ Well, soon Lee will be able to confidently say that he got coaches fired at two d...

Re: Army Game Thread

Relax everyone - we're all supporting the same team. It's too soon to criticize Fritz this season, as the majority of G5s and possibly around half of the P5 would currently have the same record (1-2) that we do given our schedule so far (Grambling, @Oklahoma, and @Navy). The Army game this week is i...

Re: ECU chancellor calls out fans

ECU did that to itself. Scottie may ultimately be a great coach, but good programs don't fire proven coaches just because they had one bad year. ECU did that, and now it's paying the price for it.

Re: Oklahoma 56 - Tulane 14

On OU the trip this weekend I spoke to a parent who's son happens to play on defense. He told me since we like to run the ball a lot at practice the defense doesn't get to see enough live passing. He said the AAC is full of big pass attacks. He said we may be under prepared to defend the pass. OU e...

Re: Oklahoma 56 - Tulane 14

They're a good program, but there is a valid question as to whether they would add value to the conference. For starters, it's average attendance in 2016 was ~11,000, and, in addition, it didn't even reach above 21,000 in 2012, the year that it went to a BCS bowl. https://www.cbssports.com/college-f...

Wave knocks OU from #2. Re: Fritz offense

It's too soon for this, as the Tulsa game will be the first game that can tell us what we need to know about how good Tulane and Fritz are. The Army game won't show much unless Tulane losses, and, even in that situation, it would only show that bowl eligibility would be unlikely. The benefit of Tuls...

Re: Oklahoma 56 - Tulane 14

It's too soon to tell exactly where this team is. The Tulsa home game in two weeks will be the first real opportunity to see Tulane play a non-option, non top-10 FBS team, and it will serve as a perfect gauge of where the program is. The game next week against Army is certainly relevant for bowl pur...

I believe that it's 23 total yards so far for the 2nd half for Tulane.

It's great. SMU is off to a great start versus TCU right now.

As great as all of this is for the conference, it isn't great for Tulane's chances at bowl eligibility.

Re: Tanner Lee

And when the games on the line, you can count on Tanner Lee for the game ending INT. FINAL: Northern Illinois 21, Nebraska 17. Tanner Lee 25-47, 299 yards, 0 TDs, 3 INTS, 2 pick sixes. Even if Nebraska waits until the end of the season to make any changes, this loss could quite literally cost Mike ...

Re: Oklahoma GameDay Thread

It's unfortunate that the final score of the ULM v. Memphis game appears to have been more of a result of the poor weather than Memphis not being that good. And I sure wish we'd schedule Kansas for a change. They're losing 39-14 to Ohio U. Virtually anyone but Oklahoma (2017), Ohio State (2018), and...

Re: Tanner Lee

Tanner Lee with 2 pick sixes at home against NIU and the first quarter is not even over yet. Honestly, maybe Lee is excellent in practice and just cannot handle the pressure of live football. That would support all of the positive comments from CJ, Riley, NFL Scouts and the Manning passing academy a...

Re: Oklahoma GameDay Thread

Folks spending $1 to watch this massacre baffle me. By the way do the schools get a cut of the take. Probably goes to conference as part of TV shared revenue. Agreed about paying for it. I'll be keeping track on the ESPN box score page, though. Oklahoma retains the revenue since Big 12 teams retain...

I'll tell you what is truly amazing, a state with only 4 million people that ranks 48th or 49th in so many categories, including per capita income, has a top 50 university - Tulane. This is true. The decision of the university to begin targeting out of state students over in-state students so many ...

Re: 2018 USN&WR BEST COLLEGES RANKINGS

We can agree to disagree on that. Emory didn't really start reaping the rewards from Coke and become relevant until the late 1980s - it didn't even become a member of the AAU until 1995 while Tulane was added way back in 1958.

Well, get ready for the game so many of you wanted to see. This. I still support the philosophy of not scheduling elite P5s other than LSU. we may be down 10 million http://www.nola.com/education/index.ssf/2017/09/tulane_university_asked_to_pay.html#incart_most-read_ Tulane seems to be repositioning itself in order to expand its online offerings and closing this campus was a step in that direction.
