Re: Fall Ball Baseball

Why would it be safe to say that? The team hasn't even played a game yet.

Re: Miss State Baseball Recruiting

D brought up RJ, not me and who can blame him? They kind of go hand in hand. I'm not overly defensive, it's just that everyone here knows that you have a vendetta against him

Re: Miss State Baseball Recruiting

Who cares where it was ranked before the kids reported to class? Isn't it a whole lot more important to get the kids on campus and hopefully living up to their potential? I know Coach Rick Jones had one year a ways back that was a top ten, if not top 5 class that was decimated by defections to pro ...

Re: Miss State Baseball Recruiting

Pretty simple and basic stuff. Warren asked Pierce to let him out of his Letter of Intent, he did and was free to sign wherever he wanted. Nothing confusing about it. A quick google search will show you that Warren did originally sign with Tulane.

Re: Miss State Baseball Recruiting

Here's how the 2014 class was hurt, the classes are re-ranked in August when they actually know who will be on campus. Class rankings before the kids have decided whether or not they'll go pro are worthless. If you didn't realize that, then you probably don't know much about college baseball recruit...

Re: Miss State Baseball Recruiting

Since no one showed me who was responsible for TU's 98th ranked 2014 recruiting class, I did a little research. Jake was TU's Baseball Assist. Coach/Recruiting Coord. from 2010 - 2014 (RJ was head coach). DP and staff took over after the 2014 season. TU recruiting classes (2011-2014) per perfect Ga...

Re: Potential FB coaching candidates

This staff won in Statesboro with Jeff Monken's talent. The entire staff seem like decent people incapable of persuading talented players at primary positions sign. This thing can get ugly fast Troy. Got Butch Davis on speed dial? Again the saddest thing is butch is better off where he is. He can g...

Re: We don't want Kendal Briles...

Doing a damn good job as Lane Kiffen's OC. Not counting Fritz out yet, but I think we'd be much better off with Kiffen and Briles. Until it isn’t Tulane is a job killer. Kiffen can do better. He took the FAU job, he'd have taken the Tulane job. Not at this point. It’s a career killer until it isn’t...

Re: Memphis GameDay Thread

Look at our offense and try to imagine it simulating this Memphis offense. You can see how unprepared that would make the defense to defend Memphis. People post this two or three times a week. Our starters and 2nd, and even third team players don't try to stimulate the opponent. As a matter of fact...

Re: For Discussion-What would you do....

I was mostly referring to the NFL but they get scholarships and they do get stipends and many other benefits. They are on the teams time then and not their own. If they want to protest they can buy a ticket and go the game and sit when the anthem is played. Well you're obviously wrong. Their employ...

Baseball team looking for a new hitting coach

Billy Jones has left the program due to a medical issue.
Any thoughts on who the new hitting coach/recruiting coordinator could/should be ?

Re: For Discussion-What would you do....

I'm glad that college teams stay in the locker room for the anthem so I'll never have to make that decision. Yes. I believe they do for football but baseball and basketball come out for it though. Hmmm. One of those may be more cause for concern than the other. There's a Travis Jewett national anth...

Re: Army Game Thread

Any word on Sean Wilson? Sean Wilson playing injured. or withheld from playing will have an enormous negative effect on the entire defense. If I were laying money on this game without Sean Wilson. I'd take Army. Even if Wilson isn't 100% Army is a lot more banged up than we are (missing left tackle...

19 innings pitched. Maybe he is some stud pitcher but I've never heard about it. All his accolades are as a hitter.
His résumé as a pitcher is nothing special.

Re: Cade Beloso

Cade Beloso has decided to commit to LSU Big loss for Coach Jewett Huge loss. He's like losing two players (a Michael Aubrey type). He's easily the best 2 way player in the state for 2018. Was going to help us on the mound and start at 1st base. In 129 AB's he only struck out 8 times. He was a Davi...

Re: Early Signing

Nothing was similar. This is the biggest by far when it comes to players getting scholarship money. Those other classes involved mostly freshman which tied up money for four years. The intent here was to get immediate help but to also be able to free money up soon so we wouldn't be stuck in this ru...

Re: Early Signing

The reality is we have never had to have such a big signing class. Since we needed a big influx of players we made the move to add a large number of JUCO's to try and get experienced players that could hopefully help right away and then not be on the books long and the scholarship would be open aga...

Right, it's semantics really and the issue may not be unique to Tulane but there are plenty of schools that have no trouble getting JUCOs in.

As many as 5 JUCO recruits have been denied admission STRAIGHT FROM THE HORSES MOUTH..... "Don’t let facts get in the way of a good rumor. No JUCO baseball players have been denied admission. One was originally denied, then later admitted. All others have been admitted". So the horse was ...
