Re: Weighted baseballs causing arm injuries

I don’t know what Tigh Dickinson did with the weighted balls at Tulane. I do know that at Arkansas St he used driveline weighted balls and is friendly with Kyle Boddy who is the founder of driveline baseball. The pitching coach at Oregon State uses the driveline program. Now obviously Tighe didn’t g...

Re: Weighted baseballs causing arm injuries

Throwing a weighted baseball causing Tommy John and other arm problems. https://www.topvelocity.net/weighted-baseball-training-causes-serious-injury/ Our Ex pitching coach had some of our pitchers throw a weighted ball as part of their training. The Oregon State pitching coach has his pitche...

Re: Tulane/LSU baseball series

Tulane FB is no better than 4th best program in the state. Sorry but the BS flag is thrown on your post. Fourth best program in the state?? What other programs have beaten us lately? U-La-La didn't beat us last time we played. Their sister University UL-M was also blown away at their stadium last t...

and I hate like hell that the playground I grew up at is now named for Pontiff I'm sure the kid would be happy to trade places with you. Just because U die, doesn't mean you have a building or a street named after you, there are several young men who died way before Pontiff, and the name was not ch...

Re: Tulane/LSU baseball series

Anyone who blames Dannen for this is insane. LSU tickets have been $35 for the past decade. Cox did not want to televise this game until late and then offered half the amount they offered LSU for the same game a month earlier. LSU clearly offered crazy terms ie 1 for 5 home games. Pauly M's comment...

Re: Tulane/LSU baseball series

want people in the seats....bring in Notre Dame for an April, 3 game series..... Teams begin playing conference series in March. We played ND in 2013 for our 1st home series. The crowds were fine but nothing special Then play them again, and once again, the crowds will be fine...if ND does not work...

Re: Tulane/LSU baseball series

So he's had since 2008 and didn't do it until TD's horrific decision. Sorry but this isn't about is being competitive. Or you can say, he didn't do it until we started beating them. Perspective. Not about perspective. It's about reality. We have had other periods of beating them and the series wasn...

Re: Tulane Wins Game 2 against LSU

It could have been avoided by us not sucking and also not refusing to televise the game last year. Colossal fuckup by Dannen if this is true. Sucks big time as a longtime Tulane fan. The one game I look forward to playing every year. The one rivalry that remained with them was baseball. while I do ...

Re: Tulane Wins Game 2 against the Tiggers

My biggest concern would be LSU refuses to come to NOLA and play us. That would cost Tulane it’s biggest baseball payday and would really hurt our baseball program. Counting ticket sales, suite sales, parking and concessions we probably gross in the $125,00-$150,000 ballpark for this one game. They...

Forrest Webber hits 87.1. Rehabbing from Tommy John https://twitter.com/forrestwebber4/status/1017476825575018511?s=21 So we r promoting a kid throwing 87 MPH 13 months after surgery? At his age, and with ZERO to gain, I wouldn't let him air it out often. Rushing back from TJ surgery is never anyth...

Re: Melvin Frazier now projected 1st round pick

Which means now no guaranteed contract? Not necessarily. As we learned earlier in this thread, some second round picks get guaranteed deals, some do not. He can always threaten to play a couple of years overseas then come back. I wish Melvin the best. And pray he doesn't do the same thing with his ...

Re: Jake Rogers

I guess it shouldn’t come as too much of a surprise. He didn’t hit much at Tulane outside of his JR season and even then he wasn’t great.
Getting traded to the Tigers probably wasn’t good for him. Astros are so much better at developing their guys.

Re: 2018 MLB Draft

Kody Hoese just drafted 35nd round KC I thought you had to be 3 years removed from your HS graduating class if you didn't go pro after HS? Isn't Hoese going to be a true Junior? I really don't know the rules any more. 21 years old. LSU’s Zack Hess is also a true sophomore who was drafted this year

Just think about the current NBA players that went to small schools that never really had an NBA star before. Have any of those schools really benefited from having one good player in the NBA?

Re: 2018 MLB Draft

My bad, Show Me, I thought he was a HS kid based upon the comment "he'd be better off coming to Tulane to improve his draft status". He is 21 years old, and was picked in the 32nd round by Milwaukee 3 years ago. So he improved by 26 rounds by spending a year at Nebraska and then going to JUCO. LOL,...

Re: 2018 MLB Draft

Hard to tell a 17 or 18 year old that $264K is "not a lot of money". Then turn around and ask him to spend about that much (less financial aid and/or scholarship money) to enroll at Tulane. Except he’s closer to 21 otherwise he wouldn’t be draft eligible unless in HS. To be draft eligible must eith...

Re: Melvin Frazier now projected 1st round pick

Everyone recognizes his ability on the defensive end of the court. The reason people talk about his offense is because the bloggers are saying he's a 3 and D player and that that combo is making him rise up boards. Most disagree with that. My response on page 3 . Fact is now that the scouts are inv...

He grew up in Chalmette, but his family moved to Texas after Hurricane Katrina. Beloso was 4-0 on the mound. Ahh. Their is our answer.....i was wondering why we would sink this money into a 1B/DH and our answer was because he was going to pitch and be a 2 way guy. Well he won't pitch at LSU despite...

I never said that they didn’t get better. Johnson obviously did. What part of my take on Roper do most disagree with? All I said was that he was hit or miss. I’m not saying he was bad, I’m just saying that my expectations when we signed a San Jac ace were higher. He was fine but not a stud which is ...
