Re: Baseball Coaching Search

I know im stating the obvious, but we need to find a Wayne Graham or Jim Schlossnagle (Rice / TCU), in a sense where they stayed at the school and built something special and haven't left for other jobs. Schlossnagle is from the Northeast and he stayed there to build the program. Neither of the coac...

Re: What does our baseball coach need to do to get us back to Omaha?

Glad I got to hear the whole interview to hear what TD really said about stacking. He said since he's been here he's had a couple of people riding that horse on stacking and he said they don't understand what they are riding. He said that the program no longer faces the issues it was and that' b/c ...

Re: Baseball Coaching Search

i keep hearing Travis jewitt as candidate. He is fantastic recruiter, and could be a fantastic coach. And if we went that route of course I would be on board. But just so everyone's on same page and aware, he is known as the ultimate job hopper. He would jump ship here at the drop of a hat in 2 year...

Re: Baseball Coaching Search

Just heard Turtle Thomas on the list. He fits the Dannen profile of hiring a coach with previous head coaching experience. Also has La ties. didn't he just get fired? Thats exactly who we dont want. I think we can hit this hire out of the park. We are a top 25 program, we also pay in the top 25, so...

Re: Baseball Coaching Search

Not sure who specifically I want yet to be the next HC, as i'm still working through everyone. Theres just not a Mark Kingston or a David Pierce available this year that i've seen. Someone who can recruit lights out and has had multiple top 10 classes at a big program and then became there own HC at...

Re: 2016 Perfect Game Baseball recruiting class rankings

Man i thought it was better than that. Hopefully we can start pulling in some big time classes like the old days soon. We need Dannen to help fix the scholarship situation ASAP!! If i remember correctly our 2013 class that Gaut. signed was ranked #20 or so. Then Pierces staff added 2 players to that...

It looks as though Rogers caught Mike king all during the cape for Hyannis. He should be well scouted!

Re: UCONN Series

From d1 Tulane @ UConn – Kay’s Big Test Stephen Alemais is back healthy for Tulane, and Jake Rogers is having a breakout offensive season behind the plate. Both hitters are potential late first round candidates this June, and their righty pop at their respective positions make them particularly intr...

Re: Texas Series Win

Here's what I have after this week:

Rogers-c
Hope-3rd
Alemais-SS
Wilsey-2nd
Williams-1st
Witherspoon-Lf
Carthon-cf
Kaplan-Rf
Montalbano-dh

Dehart and Edwards haven't done it in the field or at the plate so they would be odds out.

Re: Texas Series Win

Yes. I wonder if Rowland or Edwards and Witherspoon can play leftfield? I really didn't like when spoon was in center! Hopefully when alemais is back permanently we move wilsey back to second. Edwards has cost us badly in crucial situations as well. I think it will all start coming together next wee...

Re: Texas Series win

Your bad pt #4 is a ridiculous statement. We are hitting .290 as a team and top ten in homeruns! Disch falk is a grave yard and probably the biggest college baseball field. The outfield does need to be taken care of and this points to Pierce. I'd rather have guys who are slow and reliable out there,...

Re: Nicholls State Game

I would not call it dumbass baseball. I would call it inexperienced players and could take it as far as poor coaching decisions. We get Alemais back next week and hopefully hunter Williams soon as well. We should be playing wilsey also, regardless of his bat. This will be a much different looking te...

Re: Furman Series

I choose defense over offense everytime. Edwards is killing us in the field. He shouldn't be anywhere in the infield! Wilsey is the better option. Yes he is struggling but the team has more than made up for his struggles at the plate. Edwards cost us another run yesterday. He just doesn't have the r...

Re: Furman Series

I'll be happy when hunter Williams is back. These freshman are killing us defensively. I'm definitely questioning pierce and the recent lineups. How in the hell can you keep Cade Edwards on the field and bump wilsey, one of our top power bats and best defensive infielders?!!! Hopefully we get good n...

Re: SLU Game Thread

Our problems are obvious as everyone has discussed, but one major one I haven't seen metioned is....is we are definitely missing Hunter Williams at first base and need him back immediately. Out of Alemais 7 errors to date, 5 of those were routine scoops at 1b that were missed by the freshman....very...

The only downside I see so far is that all three of the P5 schools lost. I know P5 bias is not as prevalent in baseball, but it would have looked better to the casual fan to say you beat Ariz, Neb and maybe SDST, instead of Ariz, USD, and Bryant. But give us three wins this weekend, regardless of t...

he may not be friday but that doesnt mean hes not their ace. There is a reason they match him against Sunday guys...automatic win. He is the best pitcher houston has period! He will be one of the top lhps taken next year. He may be back by the time we play but if not its a huge blow.

Re: Baseball

Yes HUGE loss! By his absence alone we added two wins to our season and likely propelled us as the favorite in conference. He was gonna be one of the first pitchers taken next yrs draft. Still have to play the games but that was definitely the player not to lose....must've done something pretty bad!

Sedlock is the best prospect. Friday night starter but mostly outa the pen last year with only 30 innings pitched. They are a good test but not near what they were last year.
