Re: Ruse is out--Search for new OC has begun

My optimism about Fritz has skyrocketed after hearing this news. He obviously wants to build something special at Tulane. I know Rich Rod would not be interested in the oc position but I would love to see Fritz get on the phone with him for suggestions on who we should hire along with our offensive...

Re: Tulane Comes Back To Beat Navy 29-28

It is easy to slip a slot back past a secondary that has been playing an all out run support.. Coach McCleskey needs to stay.
Congratulations to the staff & players - great win.

Re: Navy Game Thread

If our DE's do an ole on the tackles in an effort to bury the pitch without denying timely access to our inside run support, the game will be decided quickly in favor of Navy. If it only were that simple. When Georgia Southern took a Nick Saban coached National Champion team into the fourth quarter ...

Re: Navy Game Thread

We played teams worse than Colgate, which has a D that is VERY VERY good.. And I'll be happy to wager on the Black Knights of the Hudson versus Navy. Straight up. Interesting, but its really hard to tell just how good Colgate is, since they play NOBODY. Five shutouts, 2 games of 3, and one of 6 poi...

Re: Navy Game Thread

We have a long record of matching up well against their flexbone & Navy knows it. Even under CJ, thanks to our defense, the games were much closer than the score indicated. We have the team speed at LB & DB to win. The techniques on our d-line have to be executed cleanly & consistantly throughout th...

Re: How Many Regular Season Games Will Tulane Win?

Do we have the money to guarantee the gate for a pathetically insignificant bowl game against a Sun Belt opponent who will come into the game with their hair on fire?

Re: How Many Regular Season Games Will Tulane Win?

I say we win 5. We'll play up to good competition and down to bad. I just can't do specifics based on the past. You are one game away from being a genius. Lol. It hurts to know that we should-could-would be bowl eligible by now had we handled our business. I have a bad feeling about the Navy game. ...

Re: Navy Game Thread

I have a bad feeling about this game. Anybody have an update on Kennedy injury. Will need him. So do I. Our young guys up front will be in a trial by fire situation. I hope the older guys are healthy to free up Graham/Teamer on inside-out pursuit. The corners are going to have to play strong in run...

We do not have sufficient talent at qb and wide out to make teams pay for stacking the box.
But keep going on about our option while you're at it coach. That'll do wonders.

Bob Davie gave the hook to Bob Debesse at UNM. The "option' didn't work for long at New Mexico in the Mountain West. He's currently at Georia Southern.

How many prospective QB's completely ruled out Tulane for his misleading ridiculous statements about our zone blocking rpo offense? In what way does it res...

Dancing with who brung ya and hung ya are essential distinctions.
Apparently he lacks the cojones to hold his staff accountable. He's such a "nice guy"..

Decision time....

I believe that Coach Fritz has very difficult decisions to make regarding his coaching staff this off season. The acquisition of Coach McCleskey for this season was a godsend, but it came easy due to the the NCAA adding an additional coach to all programs. Staff continuity is wonderful thing until i...

Re: Houston wipes out the Wave 48-17

Remarkably poor performance when you consider who wasn't playing for Houston. Our defense has had a lot of success in disguising their intentions behind a man-to-man ruse. The combination of Kendal Briles schemes, super high tempo, and a highly mobile QB laid waste to us. Ed Oliver can be assured t...
