Re: Spring Practice

The reports from Guerry Smith, which unfortunately don't all get put in The Advocate, have been positive about Banks continued development. This is the first time in college that he's played in the same system two years in a row. He has all of his primary targets back, Encalade, Mooney, Jones and C...

Re: Oh what could have been...

Need to set the record straight on Lindy Infante . Just got off the phone with a former player that played for Larry Smith and was a senior in Larry’s final year. Lindy Infante left before Larry Smith actually left. Smith was mad about it as well. Infante left during spring ball in 1980 to take a j...

Re: Tulane Football Camp end of May

We can thank Ed Orgeron for his participation in our camp. They'll be kids coming in far and wide that otherwise would not have. I hope LSU football prospers under their current staff who sees value in directing talent (particularly in-state), towards us rather than their SEC and Big 12 rivals. Let...

Re: Matt Forte

I always thought of Brister as a journeyman QB, but looking at his stats, he had longevity. Funny thing: His total passing yardage in the NFL is almost identical to Forte's yards from scrimmage. Heck, he was a jouneyman before he even got to the NFL; signed with Alabama in football but then signed ...

Re: Tulane not alone in attendance woes

Perhaps the benevolent Kim Jong-un can provide DPRK "cheerleaders" to fill in the gaping voids on the east side of the stadium.
Would he stand accused Kimchi-Baggery?

Re: Tulane not alone in attendance woes

Winwave is correct. As a sports fan in general I like to attend sports events when possible. I usually attend St Paul’s high school football games on Friday nights. The stadium is perfect for high school and is less than 2 minutes from my house. Tickets are $8 and you can sit anywhere and have a gr...

The number 1 ranked player in the country (Rivals), a 6"5" Pro-Style Qb has chosen Clemson? WTF? Who does that? DeShaun Watson did. He was the #1 ranked QB in college football, by a good margin, his last two years at Clemson. Watson would have been NFL rookie of the year by a HUGE margin (with all ...

Re: Junior Diaz Gone

Since 11:10 AM CST, the top three threads on this site are referencing players who are not part of Tulane Athletics (1 recently, 1 for a long time and 1 never). Isn't there something better to discuss? To be fair, 2/3 are either directly or indirectly related to how good Tulane will be in 2013. Dia...

If he's considering the NFL as an option, transferring to a pro scheme offense for his 5th year is a very smart move.
Good luck Junior. I wish you nothing but the best!

What's wrong with spreading the love? My friend & high school teammate signed a LOI with Jackie Sherrill & Pitt. The weekend before the signing day he was flown to Dallas on a private jet with Ron Meyer, the Mayor of Dallas and a handful of current and former Cowboys. My friend discreetly signed wi...

Re: 1998 National Champs!

Who do you consider our peer schools? My guess is, there isn't another school in the AAC other than UCF that's had a football NC, ever. So they're not really in a position to laugh, are they? Maybe Navy has. I think SMU went undefeated, but they were on "probation'... They list as having 3 national...

All but two of the plays on John Rhys Plumlee's highlight reel were outside zone reads. He looks like an outstanding passer who can run when needed. Isn't Oak Grove the school where Brett Favre volunteers?

Re: Big XII Expansion

The gap between the AAC and Pac 12 isn't all that large. The gap between the AAC and the rest of the G5 is huge. You get the big money when people care about watching your games on TV. On a typical football Saturday there are between 4 and 8 games to choose from in most homes. Why would someone wan...

If Scott comes to Tulane I'd Be surprised if he didn't take the starting job from Banks when it's all said and done. Maybe not by opening week but at some point in the season If he's better, and knows the offense as well as Banks does at the time, then it's a good problem to have. But Banks got a l...

The scrotum rash from fifteen years of cowdick fungus wasn’t going to be cured in one year. But it’s clear that the aura in tulane Athletics is better.
