Re: UCONN looking to leave AAC for Big East

UConn did not move the needle for football fans in Philadelphia. Buffalo to Cincy or Philly is over a over a six hour drive.. Phila. to Norfolk is under 4:45.

Re: UCONN looking to leave AAC for Big East

But there is a program (with a coaching staff turnover in 2020) that will be the next Boise State and if admitted to the AAC, a perennial threat to both in-state p5 rivals. They are also a natural tie-in to the AAC East. It's the elephant in the room flipping, wake up. Who? ODU Larger media market ...

Re: UCONN looking to leave AAC for Big East

Oh. And as much as we want to be a P6. We won't. The AAC won't. It's not going to happen. You want to be included with the best? Then you beat the best and become one of them. I honestly really wish all this P6 crap would stop too. We are NOT a power conference. Never was, never will be. But Vandy,...

Re: UCONN looking to leave AAC for Big East

The view from New Jersey: https://www.nj.com/sports/2019/06/who-will-replace-uconn-in-aac-ranking-the-top-candidates-army-byu-who-else.html The American Athletic Conference is likely losing UConn as a football member. The AAC should not be terribly broken up about this - the Huskies have been an on...

Re: UCONN looking to leave AAC for Big East

Get used to it, this is just the beginning. When the NFL runs PSA's to encourage participation in youth football and the members of the PAC 12, the B10 and even the ACC scour well trampled regions of the country for talent. You know the jig is up. The consolidation of the P5's was ultimately a move ...

Re: UCONN looking to leave AAC for Big East

College Football is a foreign culture in New England. For decades Boston College would recruit the Parochial Schools of the Mid-Atlantic to put together recruiting classes. The Mid-Atlantic is a shadow of what it used to be for producing football prospects. BC & UConn football are focusing their rec...

Old Dominion: *Legendary recruiting of the Tidewater. *A very large underserved fan base for sports entertainment. *Largest media market outside of Nova/Metro DC (700,000). *Mid-Atlantic media. *68 million dollar expansion underway for the stadium. * Two in-state P-5 programs are not dominating the ...

So who could we possibly invite to fill that slot? I know in the past they talked about UMass. I'd prefer Southern Miss to UMass, personally. Not for any specific benefit. I also thought there was talk of Wichita State bringing back football at some point.

Re: Wave lands a commitment from Justin Ibieta QB!!!!

If I were to advise an athletically gifted son on what sport to focus on it would be baseball, without a doubt. Guaranteed money and they take long walks with their grandchildren (unless you're a catcher). Guaranteed money? You think? Eh, I don't know about that. Unless you make it all the way, mos...

Re: 2019 Tulane Football Regular Season Win Prediction

We will have a solid rotation up front. When was the last time that happened at Tulane?. The question is, do we have the ability to credibly show cover 1 & 0 from the back 5/6? If that's a "yes", we will be able to hide our intentions on defense until after the ball is snapped. If the new OC (QB) & ...

Re: How did you become a Tulane fan?

The pointer brothers were a part of the Wally English/Bob Davie staff. If we had that staff in 1980 things would have turned out much differently IMO Sorry, but we called Lionel and company the Pointer Sisters, well before Wally English/Bob Davie arrived. I have never heard the term Pointer Brother...

Grew up not believing that Joe Paterno was a demi-god. Unpopular position in 1970's Pennsylvania. Saw the 1979 team play PSU on national tv. Impressed by Tulane's team speed and execution.. When we play at Auburn this year we had better wear the '79 Roch Hontas uni. They are carbon copies of the Auburn uni. Blue & Green vs Orange & Blue. Classic!

Heard that Tulane is hard after two more D Lineman, Adonis Friloux of Hahnville and Desanto Rollins from Baton Rouge. Tulane said they were only taking 3 down lineman earlier but now they are looking to grab 4 with these 2 being the main players. Purely speculating but I believe that number has cha...

Not buying that Army is a great force to be reckoned with. Our young d-line passed their baptism by fire pretty well last year. As a defense we have always performed well against their scheme.
I look forward to Army's defense matching up to our responsive offense.
