Re: That's a Wrap

Interesting and I welcome being corrected but I have never seen Fritz throw anyone under the bus when there is a failure. From Navy game on down, it is always we/I (coaching staff) have to do a better job and help players and whoever else to perform better. That is the most refreshing thing about hi...

Re: Football Recruiting 2018

7 of the top 13 are AAC. Our number of recruits puts us over UCF but their avg is higher so they will pass us on the next player or two they get committed. I could be wrong but let's see who UCF actually signs with coaching change. I think the better comparable measure with them will be after Febru...

Re: Coaching Changes

We shall agree to disagree. Common opponent this year: ECU. Both teams played at ECU. JMU beat the Pirates by 20 points, we beat them by 7, in OT. They're D1 football teams, not Euroleague vs. NBA. And both JMU and NDSU have histories of beating FBS teams. NDSU has won their last three against Big ...

Re: Coaching Changes

I wonder what the buyout is if he decides to leave? Mike Houston is a very good coach. I also wonder if this isn't a clue that JMU is once again thinking about moving up to FBS? They made overtures to do so a couple of years ago and then declined an invite to a certain G5 conference because it wasn...

Re: Football Recruiting 2018

Guys, I'm just saying FBS players are faster than California HS players so game speeds up for everyone at all positions and plays. Everyone and everything is faster, better, stronger, harder and tougher. I'm confident Wright will be coached up to improve addressing Win's point as will all other inco...

good ole Gatorade...did ya know that the University of Florida's Athletic Dept receives close to 15 million per year for the Formula and Naming Rights to "Gatorade'.... I'm surprised that patent didn't expire 20-30 years ago! Naming rights wouldn't surprise me, but I thought Patents had a limi...

Re: Football Recruiting 2018

We agree that it doesn't matter how far you can kick it if your kicks are blocked. Last time I looked typical FBS players are faster than typical California HS players, so yes the game will speed up for him next year if he signs with Tulane.

Re: Wave loses to FSU 72-53

Disappointed. Last year we so underachieved that many including myself may have jumped the gun on this year’s early results. The only 3 road games that were of any consequences we loss by double digits or blown out. The Jamaican tournament competition we faced wasn’t much. Then you have LIU Brookly...

Re: Football Recruiting 2018

Is the early signing period helping us close the deal with a lot of these recruits? It sure gives that impression. The P5's are having to show their hand earlier and kids know the score. It sure appears that way. I wonder if Fritz keeps one or two schollies in his back pocket for a good talent who ...

Re: Football Recruiting 2018

And just like that, less than 24 hours go by and Ryan Wright is downgraded from a .7998 to a .7498. He is now our worst rated recruit and our average and total points have dropped. Still 4th in the AAC but slipped to 65, behind Illinois, in the national ranking. I'll say this I watched film of him ...

Looks like she won the state championship this season going undefeated so will likely be 2x GPOY. A big 6-3 hitter who will likely be a big part of the future of the Program. After the LSU game today, too bad she gave up basketball. :( LVB, She has a Romanian surname. Was she born in the Balkans? I...

One of the top punters in the country in Ryan Wright, a huge DT who had some serious offers in Jeffery Johnson and a big, fast S in Dorian Camel.
So who is the 4th that Amare Jones tweet refers to? Any guesses? All very good news from the three public ones.

Re: FSU Game Thread

Can’t play with the big boys. Looked a lot like last year. Agree in that Tulane was down six in second half with ball and missed three point shot. Next thing you know they are down twenty. Very last season in that respect. Team is improved but that bar was pretty low after last few seasons. Let's s...

Re: New Commit - Ryan Wright P from CA

I'm guessing that means we won't be getting the Nebraska committed kicker who was also here. Will Wright kick FG too? Huge news that we could finally land a highly rated kicker but a little disappointing if he only punts. Not sure why you think that. Barrett Pickering, the NEB commit, is only a PK ...

Re: FSU Game Thread

Spread is 13 points. I know some around here thought it would be much more but Vegas is treating this as a neutral site game although I expect FSU fans will outnumber Tulane's by 50 fold. Shoot well and limit the turnovers and perhaps Tulane's "nearer-the-floor" front court can hang with F...

Re: Coaching Changes

Welcome to the perpetual Hot Stove League topic of college coaches/ADs moving around. If they're not being pushed out for losing, they're jumping elsewhere for succeeding. Let's keep throwing the pasta against the wall to see what sticks. Best one that I remember is some Tiger fan calling Hap's show...

1. Should have said it as an opinion. 2. Trying to alleviate you guys getting your expectations up and then taking your frustrations out on the coach and players after the game because... 3. FSU is really good on defense under Hamilton. Great si ze and they play hard. There won’t be a lot of inside...

Re: Tulane beats Southern 95-76

No chance against FSU who plays incredible defense. They are long and fast. Tulane FG % may dip into twenties until trash time late. Thanks for letting us know in advance the score will be 62-0 so we can save our time prepping for the Saints-Falcons game. Can you send this memo to Dunleavy and ask ...

Brees ain't 6 ft either. Glad you confirmed that personally! Look we're simply trying to explain why Scott is basically being under-recruited like he is the star of a six man football team in Alpine, Texas. He is not simply slightly shorter than the ideal QB prototype, he is way shorter just like Ni...

Flutie was generously listed at 5'10. I don't know how accurate the listing is, but Scott is 5'11 Listed at 5'11" but many who follow this closely and go to go HS games to see players in person have said he is 5'9". Seeing him in footage standing with the other QB's at LSU he was noticeab...

Re: Lindsey Scott commits to LSU now transferring to EMCC

I know it's been a few years but we forget that the LSU faithful saw several years of Scott as a BR player that we only saw in the state finals. After losing Franks, the peasants truly had the pitchforks out for Miles to sign the local kid. It was a long shot sop to LSU's fan base. He had an extra s...
