Re: AD Agenda

3-1 if the one is Yulman Dome-Tiger-Yulman-Tiger also acceptable with the Dome game incentivizing LSU money making Or just alternating Dome and Tiger as a traditional rivalry game with each as a home game for the home team. Or opening weekend in the dome every year with some incentives to whoever se...

Re: Tulane/LSU baseball series

Anyone who blames Dannen for this is insane. LSU tickets have been $35 for the past decade. Cox did not want to televise this game until late and then offered half the amount they offered LSU for the same game a month earlier. LSU clearly offered crazy terms ie 1 for 5 home games. Pauly M's comments...

Re: WVU Series

Leaving Merrill in with that many pitches in the 6th was so obviously a huge mistake. If we had lost that game, the season might have gone with it, blowing a 7 run lead in the 6th on a 7 game losing streak. Watching the infielders huddle up near second base after the bases clearing double made me th...

Re: Big XII Expansion

All of these schools have the same level of success as Tulane in football with the exception of Cincinnati and possibly Houston. The same can be said of basketball except for Memphis and Cincinnati. So, Cincinnati looks like a shoe in. Everyone else is in a dog fight for that other spot and Tulane b...

Re: Big 12 soliciting

I think it's worth tossing this idea back into this discussion: 1. Texas goes independent in football: becomes like Notre Dame with the ACC and keeps the Longhorn Network rights for home games in all sports 2. Big 12 adds Tulane, Memphis, and Cincinnati (with possibly UCF and Houston as well to get ...

Re: Big 12 expansion

Yes jettison Texas. Oklahoma recently has been grumbling not about leaving but about leveling the playing field with the LHN/TV rights or getting rid of Texas. The article I read talked about trying to set up Texas as an independent like Notre Dame is to the ACC with their independent contract for f...

Re: Houston Series #Two

Third game of the series should always be treated as a getaway game. It would be if it was played on Sunday like normal. Also, we should have played the first game on Thursday if this was how rain delays work.

Re: Big 12 expansion

While the historical CUSA and the current AAC are very similar, the money coming into and the TV exposure for the programs is vastly different and money/tv/exposure is everything in college sports. It was AAC money that brought the coaches in for Memphis, Temple, and Houston. Also, while South Flori...

Re: Houston Series #Two

ECU is up 8-1 in the bottom of the 8th. Looking more and more like this afternoon is must win game. On another note, the umpiring has been so atrocious the last few games I have attended or listened to that I feel it's important to discuss. Considering game one yesterday basically decided whether we...

Re: Fan Advisory Committee

First off, parking for college football is always miserable. Tulane has done a great job of providing shuttles. If you want to drop stuff off at the tailgate then drop stuff off with people and have one person park and ride the shuttle. One of the only good things about the Dome was you could leave ...

Re: Big 12 expansion

Okay, so TD is now out of his first hundred days as AD and just put the finishing touches on the new coaching staffs for the new Tulane Athletic Department with the hiring of Mike Dunleavy Sr. 1. How would you grade him thus far on his performance? Here is mine: Football Hire: A+ Basketball Hire: A ...

Screwing Tulane is not a top priority of LSU, but I certain it comes into play in recruiting battles especially whenever Tulane looks like it could be surging. LSU knows that their success comes from their ability to monopolize the Louisiana recruiting. But, to be fair, in the past decades these rec...

Re: Big 12 expansion

I'm confused by a few of the posts above. Is there really any validity to the ACC, SEC, or Big 10 adding more teams? I really think that college football is settling at 14 team leagues (at the most) due to the restrictions of football scheduling. It looks like, in the shorter term, that the Pac-12 a...

Re: Big 12 expansion

I think the Big 10 is done expanding. 14 is the perfect number for a college football conference especially the way they are moving to: With 14 teams and 9 conference games you get: 6 in division games 1 cross division rival 2 cross division rotation of once every three years This means that every p...
