Re: Tulane Sweeps Wright State Series

And just how many Louisianas will that be? ULL, ULM, LSU, SWLa, NELa, etc. CAN the Louisiana and be happy to be the Rajin Cajuns, which is unique and implies a lot of pride. Trying to be Louisiana is silly and self defeating.

I looked and looked at the GolfWeek rankings and could not find Tulane anywhere within the top 100. What gives?

Re: Tulane not alone in attendance woes

wavemania, you are not a Tulane fan in any way, shape or form. I don't blame you for watching games on TV and turning it off when it gets ugly. BUT who needs fans like you? A FAN is a person who supports their team through good and bad. I have been at it for 60 years and I often watch on TV instead ...

I certainly agree with GolfNut: kill the LS thread. We don't need to be continually reminded of this "Saga." Wipe it out forever and ever. :|

Re: Fritz on verge of extension

The few times I have attended YouKnowWho stadium I felt like I was about to tumble over, all the way to the bottom. With all of the additions they have done I can't imagine it being any better. No wonder that after a few imbibements things often got rough in the old days when there WAS a rivalry.

Re: Fritz on verge of extension

I always wondered why we did not go bowling in 1997. I don't think we (or anyone) should refuse an invite to a bowl game, even if it costs money. Things were definitely different then. If only, if only, if only we had hired RR?????

I WAS THERE !!!!!! I was in my first year of teaching Chemical Engineering. With the help of several students we organized a Greyhound Bus trip to the game. I, along with my future wife) was the "chaperone" with two bottles of scotch in my possession. We drove all night from uptown and arrived in Me...

I was there!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I was also at Ladd Memorial Statium when the Wave defeated Alabama in 1949, our last SEC Championship year. I hope that Rufus Harris does no suffer in Hell, but at least he belongs in Purgatory. And Hindman Wall for getting us out of the SEC. How many times can a Univer...

Re: Willie Fritz to Kansas

I would say that RR has been a disappointment at Arizona. He will never win the PAC and his team is up or down. He probably would do well at Tulane but I don't think we will ever find out.

My name for the Tulane Defense over the last decade (and for some time before Bowden/RR) is the GREEN WAVERS. They wave at the offensive guy as he passes by.

From the Larry Smith era, are you speaking of the "tearaway" jerseys? I recall Hontas' tearaway being ripped off; he has to come out for a play; Hightower, his replacement, fumbled and we wind up losing. I can't remember who the opposition was.

Re: Tulane 21 - Army 17

I was there and I marveled that we actually did not come up short. I go back to the Tulane-LSU game when Steve Foley was the QB. With no time outs left we drove down to near the goal line. Our running back was stopped JUST SHORT of the goal line as time ran out. It was the next year that we beat the...

I was at the 1949 Tulane-Alabama game in Mobile. I was 11 years old and already become a Tulane Fan. There have been many miserable years but having taught at Tulane for 51-1/2 years I am "stuck" with the Green Wave. I have no regrets.

I have Westfelt season seats and I GLADLY pay the bonus. I consider this a donation that I would have made anyway. I know that the bonus is a big hit for most Tulane fans and I understand the complaints. However, if you are real fans, just keep this negative stuff to yourselves. Write to the Athleti...

Eagle, I wonder how much his recruiting was helped by his calls to the young ladies? Not trying to start an argument about Freeze. I agree that he is a good (but not great) coach.
