Re: Tulane basketball 2015 recruiting class up to #68

Henson was bad, we were considerably worse when he was on the floor in conference games. His 5 best games were against the weakest parts of our schedule. Replacing his 18 minutes, 6 points and 4 boards should be easy. Even if he could find away to start over the freshmen we have coming in he would m...

Re: Conroy being EXTENDED!!!

I was told he would be gone if we were under .500, but this was also before conference play started and we experienced periods of mild success. That is probably enough for RD to justify keeping him around. But if the .500 mark is a legit benchmark that he MUST meet then I wouldn't be unhappy if we ...

Re: American Conference RPI

I like to use Ken Pomneroy's ratings which takes a handful of different categories to come up with their list. And Conroy on that list has been:
Ov
2011-#205
2012-#216
2013-#155
2014-#282
2015-#198

Also, AAC is 9th conference.

Re: SMU 8 & 1/2 pts. > Wave

Something early in the second half that was just brutal was soft fouls on guys with a relatively clear path to the basket. Twice SMU had easy layups and we had guys just touch them for some of the easiest and-1s I have ever seen. We were down 5 the first time this happened and they missed the FT, an...

ESPN Insider projected AAC Standings

For a conference that includes the reigning national champion, the American sure suffers from a lack of respect. It's true this league's bottom half looks rather undistinguished, but of course the ACC has issues in that department as well, and no one yells at John Swofford. The real problem with thi...

Re: MBB at #13 Washington Pac 12 Network TV 10pm tipoff

I thought we played the best defense we possibly could against their size and athleticism. We are much better than we were opening the season against Wake Forest, and probably would beat them if we played them again. We still have either coaching or execution issues though, struggled to get shots of...

Re: Somebody Likes Us

TU playing in the Big 12 would be the biggest comedy routine ever seen on TV. Most of the teams in the Big 12 would chew us up and spit us out before the 1st half was over and spend the 2nd half laughing so hard that they couldn't play. We would get beat up for a while. BUT, The additional $15-20 M...

Re: MBB Tulane wins at Loyola, ILL 83-70

I was at the game, we looked pretty good for stretches of the game. But Loyola is bad, and small, so a perfect match up for us. As I have said in the past, we'll beat smaller teams, and Loyola didn't have anyone over 6'7. We dominated them on boards in first half to take early lead. Drye had a great...

Re: Wake Forest vs Tulane

Wake/Manning knew exactly how to play us; push everything out to perimeter, force us to shoot threes or throw it in to a guy who would be at a huge height disadvantage in paint. I actually thought we played pretty good man defense for stretches of the game, and we'll be more efficient defeinsively n...

Why can the media call out athletic department heads that don't produce, but when the paying fan does the same, its called "nonsense"? Guess Scott has the "afraid to cross SC" syndrome as well. Scott Kushner ‏@ScottDKushner 13m13 minutes ago ICYMI amongst today's #Tulane nonsens...

I'm really hoping students are planning on using the game as a pregame before going to the quarter. It would be awesome if we had a rowdy student section for the entire game.

Re: New floor at Devlin

In basketball crazy Chicago a new, large, arena has not helped DePaul win more than it did under Ray Meyer in the on campus band box that is now used for WBB. The most high school basketball talent in the country comes from Chicago, but the arena does not win games. Great coaching and great recruit...

Fraternities will still hold unofficial tailgates, they just won't hold them at the actual frat house. This isn't as big of an issue as it sounds.

Pearl has walked in late to a crappy Auburn program and already has pulled in 3 very good transfers and a solid FSU recruit. I thought the guy was under a show cause, how is he recruiting? It's not like the SEC is ahead of the AAC. Pearl can't have any contact with recruits until August, but his as...

Not that I have an opinion his innocence, but this is terrible timing for this to happen a week after the NY Times investigation about how the Jameis Winston case was handled. No athletic department or DA wants to deal with perceived favoritism in a he said/she said situation because the accused is ...

We play Cincy on Halloween night at home. For the first time in a long time, I actually got excited about the opponent, venue and time of a game we play.
