Re: UCF Game Week Thread
I believe this is the week where we start to see if Tulane has really improved over last year. Call me crazy but I think a CJ coached team would probably be 3-2 at this point against our schedule. Don't get me wrong, I think Coach Fritz is a much better coach than CJ, but through 5 games last year w...

Re: Southern GameDay Thread
To me it was a good win for Tulane. We won handily, however there was enough bad for the coaches to chew the team out this week (ie we got toasted on several occasions in the secondary). I was not too impressed with the F#ck You Southern chant that our student section did in the first quarter, espec...

In the words of Carlos Wilson, we need to "trust the process." Go check out our OC Doug Ruse's resume over the last 5 years. The man knows how to put up points. I have to trust him.

Re: La. Pre-Season Football team
With an offensive lineman on each of the 1st, 2nd and 3rd teams, it makes me think we have the potential to be OK on the o-line if they can stay healthy.

Re: Spring Game Report
Judging from what I saw, Bradwell played like a high school senior playing against college players. His explosiveness with his feet was obvious but his passing was not very good. Because of no QB contact, he was blown dead on plays he clearly could have kept alive. Powell threw several good passes ...

Re: Staff coming together
Clearly, based upon the conversation Coach Fritz had with Jack Abraham, the offense is going to have OPTION written all over it. It's not going to be a pure spread, and definitely not a pro-set. How little or much passing we do is still to be determined, but I would strongly doubt we're going to pa...

Re: Toledo was let go homecoming week
I could deal with another year of CJ if: 1) He fired most if not all of his offensive staff (especially O-Line and OC). He needs to scour the earth for a young and innovative offensive coordinator. 2) He let his offensive coordinator run their own system of offense. 3) Hire a real Special Teams coor...

Re: My Case for Firing CJ Saturday
I don't want the lame duck AD hiring the new coach but this needs to be CJ's last year. CJ has brought in better players than what he inherited. We are ripe for a turnaround with the right coaching.

Re: CJ on the "Hot Seat" for 2015
History is the best way to predict the future. Teevens got 5 years and went 10-46, no bowl games. Scelfo got 8 years and went 37-57, one bowl game. Toledo got 5 years and went 15-46, no bowl game. CJ year 4, 12-27, one bowl game. Based on history, no way they get rid of him this year. Especially if ...

Re: Mack Brown New Interim AD and Interim HC
Brown went 1-10, 4-7 and 6-6 at Tulane. If we want that we should keep CJ. You're right, but they actually played real football teams back then. Not CUSA chicken sh*t. Larry Smith's guys were long gone, he had only a handful of players left after he purged most of Wally's recruits. Yeah, that 73-13...

Well, our best win last year was without Monroe for most of the game. Let's see if we can get a win without him this year.

I guess I'm just not as ready to write off the rest of the season after one game against a better program as some on this forum. I fully understand we showed some of the same issues (special teams, anemic offense etc) in the game.

Re: Coaching matters....
I would suggest that we were more competitive against Rutgers because no-one had film on Tulane. Rutgers didn't know anything about us. Once we were on film, look at the rest of that season. I also think this is why SMU had some success last night. Once adjustments were made (by a quality coaching s...
