Re: Melvin Frazier now projected 1st round pick

This will impact recruiting in a major way. That's been debated throughout this thread. I'm not sure it's really going to help, as his strongest point--playing D--is not anything that Dunleavy stresses. Dunleavy did improve his shot dramatically, but I don't know that Melvin going in the first roun...

Re: Ole Miss Sweeps the Series

Ya Ole Miss makes the tourney 5 out of 6 years, draws over 8k a game and TU fans apparantly “revel” at their demise. Seems reasonable. Maybe TU can go over .500 next year in the mighty AAC, then ya’ll will have even more amo to crap on a program that gets it and um, actually wins games in a conferen...

Re: AAC Baseball Tourney Thread

Maybe I'm just not getting it. We gave up NINE walks in four innings. Aren't you taught from Little League days that if you want to be a pitcher, you have to be able to throw the ball over the plate? Either you can or you can't. If you can't, then how does the pitching coach have anything to do wit...

Just an FYI, it does not show who posted last when I am using Google Chrome on my PC. On my phone's Chrome it does show the last post. Strange.

Edit: Did not realize this would go on the front page. Not trying to gum things up, feel free to delete/move.

Re: Andy Cannizaro

I would be absolutely shocked if prim and proper Tulane hired AC. Again, IMO the only way it happens is if a donor steps up big time, pays off TJ and pitches in for AC's salary.

I do agree that AC would be a great hire however.

He's a definite 1st rounder after the combine.
He's a perfect fit for teams drafting late in the 1st who just want a guy to play 15-20 minutes, be a versatile defender and hit the occasional 3.
Love to see him in Celtics uniform, Stevens would get the best out of his defensive abilities.

Re: The Never Ending Gift of Cowen

During most of the periods listed, BC and TCU were in P5s. Further, TCU primarily recruits locally (TX) and BC primarily recruits regionally (MA/NY/CT/PA/NH), unlike Tulane. For context, in Fall 2017, ~22% of Tulane's total undergraduate newcomb-tulane enrollment came from the South Central region ...

Re: #12 ECU Sweeps Tulane

I think that less than three months after AC resigned in the wake of his scandal is too soon to consider bringing him in to coach Tulane Baseball. I agree with the suggestion that Sader had, I just think it's too soon to bring someone in who resigned under the black cloud of scandal that was hoveri...

Re: #12 ECU Sweeps Tulane

Jewett gets another year but (hopefully) will make changes. You can't fire a head coach after two years. The thing to me is that the team is just not very likable to watch. Now, I am sure the players and coaches are all good people but they play a real bad game (walks, errors, baserunning problems, ...

Easy to do in women’s sport when you have deep pockets. They either pay to play or pay not to play in their attempt to get to post season. https://crescentcitysports.com/sec-scheduling-ploys-in-womens-sports-go-over-the-top/ Someone has to explain to me how you play six tennis matches in one day? Anybody know the attendance? (Not counting the teams, officials, etc.) I don't know, but I would be surprised if it was more than 200-300. We had enough pitchers. Jewett should have found someone who could catch and paid them to do it. No excuse for how poorly prepared they were last year. I played ball up north and have several friends who also played. A lot of lesser programs in the north don;t even utilize all their scholarships an...

How many years is Jewitt's contract? We need to let the season play out but if the season turns into an unqualified disaster we do have Matt Riser right across the lake. I honestly believed that at this point TD would have this athletic department in much better shape. It's demoralizing. No idea how you older fans have hung on for this long. I am close to hanging up my TU cleats.
