Re: How Many Regular Season Games Will Tulane Win?

I think after a slow start, we scratch and claw our way to 7 wins. Nicholls, Cincinnati, SMU, Tulsa, ECU (why do tickets start at $50 for this game?) Houston and Navy. A hot Green Wave squad beats golfnut's Texas Tech squad in the Armed Forces Bowl. Tanner Lee spends the season on a practice squad, ...

CWF has landed one of the Panhandle's finest from the HS right down the street. My office manager's son plays on the team with him. Great family and dad is a former NFL'er. http://www.nwfdailynews.com/sports/20180729/navarres-wright-commits-to-tulane https://twitter.com/DanteWright8/status/10236473...

Somebody needs to work on his math. They played 8 home games in 2013.
You are right. Their website says they were 6-3 at home but they only played 8 home games. My math, bad as it may be, tells me 8 is one more than 7.

Re: K-State --- Snyder

He had a great team a few years back. In 2012 they went 12-2 with wins over Miami, OU, Ok State, UT, Their only regular season blemish was a beating by Baylor! Then they lost the Fiesta Bowl to Oregon. The next year they went 8-5 and PLAYED 9 HOME GAMES. I guess the limit is not 7 or 8. Though one w...

Re: The Perfect Season

They certainly were. And we haven't had a team nearly as talented (never mind the scheme) since. Our O-Line is on a mission to be the best Tulane has had. Make them watch films, the O-line in 1998 was damned good. If this year's O-Line was a fraction on what we had in '98, we'll contend for the West...

Re: The Perfect Season

As I've believed, and posted for years, the 1998 team was as good as any in the country. Had we played Tennessee in a MNC game, we may or may not have won, but it would have been a whole lot more exciting game than the sleeper we saw that year between the Vols and FSU. Was Tulane the most talented ...

Re: Tanner Lee

He has a way to go to make the practice squad. There's no way, barring injury, he's making the team. Kessler is much better than him as Bortles' backup. I'd be totally shocked if he gets pre-season game time with the first unit.

Re: Saw this coming when we left the Dome LSU in NOLA

Michigan made $6mm playing FL in Jerry Dome, I am guessing LSU will do just fine in the SuperDome. https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.cbssports.com/college-football/news/2017-cowboys-classic-game-vs-florida-to-net-michigan-6-million/amp/ Except the Jerry Dome is about the size, seat wise as Tiger Sta...

Re: Tanner is Back

Did anyone watch Tanner vs the Saints in the pre-season game? Some things don’t change. NO ONE can win with a pathetic O line. I don't know that the O line was anywhere near as bad as Tanner was. Held the ball too long on a few plays and the ball came out just about every time he was tackled. Yes, ...

Re: Saw this coming when we left the Dome LSU in NOLA

I read it and you're wrong. The NCAA does have a limit on the number of home games. It's not forced by the schedule. You can play 3 of your OOC's at home which would be 7 and the limit. So like I said this way they can play their 7 and then play a marquee game in a world renowned stadium and make a...

Re: Saw this coming when we left the Dome LSU in NOLA

There is a limit. It was 7 for a long time. Not sure if that changed when things went to 12 games. They'll make money and not have to play another game on the road. That rule is why we got to play LSU in NOLA in 1973 after also being the home team in 1972 b/c they had scheduled too many home games....

Re: Saw this coming when we left the Dome LSU in NOLA

They'll make their money. It won't be a matter of giving up a home game . They'll still get their usual number of those. This avoids a road game against a quality opponent and get them on what will turn out to be home turf. There's no limit to the amount of home games a team can have in a season. W...

Re: Tulsa AD, Football, and Basketball coaches accept pay cuts

My point was that the article quoted earlier in the thread called all that money "TV money". The TV portion of those revenues made up a small percentage for most of the conference members, but a large percentage for Tulane, who was at the bottom of the food chain. TU also is hopeful that the next A...

Re: Saw this coming when we left the Dome LSU in NOLA

LSU will lose money versus playing the games in Tiger Stadium. The dome will cost them rent and other expenses (travel, hotel, etc.) and it has about 30,000 less seats. But it is a kick in the teeth of Tulane. End the joint camps immediately. And be sure to ask the AAC to either put us on the road w...
