Re: Wave beats the Wave Again as UAB wins 31-24

It's a nice pipedream to think we're going to change the offense or the offensive coordinator in the middle of the season. It's just not going to happen.

Re: Something good happened yesterday FB

I really prefer commercials to the wacky conversations of a sideline reporter and two announcers who had no clue how to fill the dead space. The conversation about "would you rather fight a duck the size of a bear or 10 bears the size of a duck" was the last straw for me.

Re: Something good happened yesterday FB

The radio broadcast have commercial breaks. And is there a contractual obligation to make those breaks as long as TV? If alternative media outlets like FB want to bid on and broadcast games, one of their calling cards should be shorter breaks and faster games. Throw the radio stations a bone and gi...

Re: Something good happened yesterday FB

I wasn't a fan of the Facebook broadcast. The woman on the sidelines was very pretty, but she talked about some of the most mundane BS that by the 3rd quarter I actually missed the commercials. But she did look good. And the whole broadcast was pro C-USA. The quality was every bit as good as ESPN3. ...

Re: Wave beats the Wave Again as UAB wins 31-24

I spent a little time searching, and winwave was right, I was wrong. Fritz didn't come out and say UAB is a lower level team, at least not publicly. I guess when I read two players saying it and Fritz making his "better team usually wins" comment I interpreted that as Fritz saying Tulane had the bet...

Re: UAB GameDay Thread

This talk of dropping football is retarded. Fritz just cannot hack it at this level. Look at CJ. He got us to a bowl in C-USA. Moved to AAC and couldn't compete. We just need someone who can coach above the JV level. Agreed about Fritz. Tulane just needs to hire the OC from a P5 that generally has ...

Re: UAB GameDay Thread

Who and what was said by a player? I guess he thinks we are the tops because we played in the Rose Bowl in the past. We also had a president who painted his head with lead green paint. Losing to a team who restarted football two years ago! That would be impossible—-but we can do the impossible. I h...

Re: UAB GameDay Thread

To those saying give up football remember that that means getting out of the AAC and likely ending up in the Southland. There will be no support for that. The way things are going Tulane gets kicked out of the AAC and UAB gets in. They are building a 45,000 seat stadium which will be expandable to ...

Yeah i get all that . It’s mostly frustration typing on my part. Although I’m more than confident that year 3 duke team could’ve handled this uab team .
No shortage of frustration here, either. This sucks.

Re: UAB GameDay Thread

I’ve been very bullish about WF and Banks, but this crap we’ve seen so far gives me much doubt. Banks is not setting his feet to throw, his balls are wobbly and off even when he has time to throw, and then his decision making is questionable at best when throwing into triple coverage and getting sa...

Re: UAB GameDay Thread

D predicted we would probably crap the bed and we are certainly doing just that He also said the outcome of this game has no bearing om how good a coach WF is. Yet everyone calling for WF head? And I'll stand by that. Only a fool thinks that a single game determines how good of a coach (or player) ...

Re: UAB GameDay Thread

I’m conceding . I don’t believe Fritz can get it done. I’ve seen year 3 of a program on the rise and it doesn’t look like this. David Cutcliffe went 3-9 his THIRD AND FOURTH year at Duke. Since then he's been ACC Coach of the Year 3x, National Coach of the Year once, and taken the Blue Devils to bo...

Re: UAB GameDay Thread

It's going to be hot, but the humidity is going to be low, around 50%. For the most part we practice in hot and humid weather. The heat always takes a toll, but I don't think it should be much of a factor unless the players don't hydrate.

Congrats to the Green Wave for beating Little Rock earlier today, and Villanova tonight. Go for the tournament sweep versus Clemson tomorrow. localvb, you've got me following this team from afar. We're now 12=3 and our biggest AAC challenge could be to open the season next Friday at Wichita State. W...

Re: UAB Game Week Thread

There is another thread there where half of our old conference mates just go on a full meltdown over what a Tulane player says to the local media. I don't blame them. It was a dumb thing for a player to say and worse for a coach to say it. Who are we to say we're superior to any FBS program? We hav...

Re: Perfect Wave Podcast- Why Rich Rod was passed over

These podcasts have been very well done, but this one was difficult to listen to. Not to diminish JP's work, but it's tough to listen to Scott Cowen not take responsibility, and answer like a politician when asked why he didn't hire Rich Rodriguez. He keeps saying there's "substantial reasons he won...

Re: Football Recruiting -- 2019

There's nothing wrong with Southeastern Louisiana. I think just about any school can prepare a young man or woman for their future. It's all about what the student and professional wants to do with what they learn. But I can tell you, my Tulane diploma opened many doors for me throughout my years.
