Re: AAC Potential non conference upsets 2019

I think American teams could win 5-6 of these games. I think cinci gets spanked by Ohio, Houston loses to Oklahoma, Wisconsin crushes USF, and the other games are winnable. Top Ten American Athletic Non-Conference Games 1. Cincinnati at Ohio State, Sept. 7 2. Stanford at UCF, Sept. 14 3. UCLA at Ci...

Hard to believe that Houston at N Texas is a bigger AAC non-conf game than Tulane at Auburn.
Or even a bigger game than a rising FIU @ Tulane.

Re: 2019 Bill C’s S&P Tulane football ranking & league projections

I think ECU gets 6 wins under Mike Houston.

Also, if you read the CFN recruiting rankings, they have us just ahead of La Tech and UL-L. For whatever that is worth (as you know I put little faith in recruiting ratings.)

Re: Weekend Basketball Visitors

gbg is like the almighty Oz, hiding behind the black curtain even though nobody believes in him. And I'm not convinced Mike Dunleavy doesn't step down or accept a different position at season's end. This whole season is just too bad to imagine. Given the fact that we all knew that Conroy was gone at...

Re: Potential Men’s Basketball Coaches thread

Dannen hired the wrong Dunleavy: https://twitter.com/CoachingChanges/status/1097612788405620744 It's too early to write the book on Baker Dunleavy's HC career. He's 14-11 this year, 9=5 in the MAAC. He was 12=21 his first year. The Bobcats have some brutal losses, including Hartford and twice to bo...

Re: Arron Fitt D1 Baseball Poll

D1 baseball leaves UConn out of their top 25 poll after taking 2/3 from the D1 preseason #4 (Louisville) on the road. D1 didn’t drop any of their original top 25 out of their poll afte4 week one. How does that happen? I don’t buy into the “its early” crap. It’s a poll that should adjust with result...

I get the frustration but this particular thread is misguided and unfair. How is it misguided and unfair? College players always have been, and always will be subject to the evaluations, and yes criticisms, of fans. Much of what is said in this thread really speaks to MD's inadequate recruiting rec...

Whom has MD put in the NBA? Mel Frazier has had less than a half cup of coffee in the league, and Cam Reynolds is having a nice G=League experience, but hasn't really played in the NBA. How about a recruit that MD has had? Anyone look like they might make it to the NBA? I hear crickets. Anything tha...

Re: Weekend Basketball Visitors

They're 2020 recruits. I pray to dear God that we have a different coaching staff in place by the start of the 20-21 season, if not sooner. If I were a 2020 HS graduate, there's no way I'd consider this program unless we had a new coach in March of 2019.

At least the baseball team looks like it's going to sweep GWU. Thank God for baseball to take the focus away from this dumpster fire.

Re: Houston Game Thread

This game, which got interesting late in the first half and then again a few minutes into the second half when we cut it to 8, is now over with 13 minutes left after the Cougars went on a 14-0 run before Dunleavy FINALLY called a time out. Game over, we've lost our 15th game in a row. I've got a tho...

A great win for the Green Wave in game 2 of the season. Fighting back from a 3 run deficit to start the game, the Wave was able to pull one out. Not an easy win, but at least we have a chance for a sweep tomorrow.

We tend to overplay things like this, and downplay the ability of our opponents coaching staffs regularly on this board. I don't think this is something anyone will be talking about come game time in 190+ days.

Re: George Washington Series

I’m sure I sound like a Debbie downer but I don’t feel any better about this season after that bullpen performance I totally get it and it almost turned into "same old same ole as last year". But it didn't. Let's hope Latham can get the back end of the bullpen to be as nasty as he was. A win is a w...

Melvin Frazier with a first pitch that I hope wasn't coached by Latham!!! I'm really looking forward to an improved Tulane baseball team, and an excuse to forget about how bad Tulane basketball is! I think the only person rooting harder for Tulane baseball than we die-hards is Troy Dannen. Huge burd...

Re: AAC Opening Day only Tulane and WSU have been to the CWS

Up until recently (prior to Wichita St joining) only one school in the AAC has appeared in the CWS and that was Tulane in 2001 and 2005. It would benefit the conference greatly if we could send a few more to Omaha. I for one am looking forward to baseball after this disaster of a basketball season....

Re: 2019 Schedule

I would hope a program can overcome the loss of an assistant coach 6.5 months before the season starts. Just like Urban Meyer's suspension, this will be a non factor when we line up and play in late August. Look at it this way. It can't possibly be a GOOD thing for FIU. Maybe it'll be nothing, or m...
