Re: Sun Belt Champion Headed to New Orleans Bowl

Your response has little to do with the post of mine you qouted. Well, ok, it addresses one issue, but the main point in my post you quoted was whether or not a Sun Belt Champion could make a NY6 bowl or the playoff. I wasn't clear about UCF's chances to make it into the ESPN Invitational; Their cha...

Re: Decision time....

For the sake of the program, and his job after 2019, he needs to fire the OC and get a new one. We're all tired, even the alumni that DO care but don't post here, of this BS offense. It won't win consistently at this level. Do we aspire to 6-6? Or do we aspire to compete for CONFERENCE championships...

Re: Sun Belt Champion Headed to New Orleans Bowl

Sorry, Robert but I disagree. IF (and that's a huge IF) an undefeated Sun Belt Conference champion gave Alabama it's only loss, and had another pelt on it's belt, like, say a win over Clemson, they'd get into the ESPN Invitational and play for the MNC ahead of a 1 loss AAC champion. UCF was held out...

Re: Sun Belt Champion Headed to New Orleans Bowl

Another snooze of a story! Just like the Ula-La womens basketball thread, why should we care? No need to be so dismissive of ULL women's basketball. They played a tough game against our neighbor, and NOLA's own Dillard Blue Devils. Blue Devils came out on top, however, 72-69, in a heartbreaker. REA...

Re: Sun Belt Champion Headed to New Orleans Bowl

I am still pissed about us losing the ULL in the NOLA Bowl. The 2013 NOLA bowl results were vacated due to major NCAA violations committed by ULALA which included ACT fraud. That doesn't mean we won. It also doesn't erase one of the worst Pick 6's ever thrown by a Montana, whom set the tone for our...

Re: Houston wipes out the Wave 48-17

The recruiting advantage that UH has is that the Houston area has an incredible number of high end recruits. As Barry Switzer used to say, "if I could get the top 10 recruits in Houston every year, I could win the national championship every year". Invariably, a handful of Houston's 4 star recruits...

Re: Houston wipes out the Wave 48-17

Looking at Rivals recruiting site, it should have been no surprise why Houston, Cinci & UCF are that much better than us. Houston has finished 7th, 1st & 6th over the last 3 years with (1) 5 star and (3) 4 star recruits. Cinci has finished 1st, 7th & 2nd with (2) 4 star recruits. UCF has finished 3...

Vegas bookies cleaning up as usual Yes, it looks like the "smart money" got burned on this one! Nah, I'm sure the "smart money" knew how Tulane always chokes in a big game and spotted the points. The "smart money" are those that moved the line from 9.5 to 7.5 in three days. Clearly they were wrong.

Umm, that would be FIVE DAYS before the season started. And McM is not the answer, at least not this year. Once Houston took away the quick slant, he had little to offer.

Re: Houston GameDay Thread

Actually it's Green Bay v. Seattle. An Interesting match-up too. During my 20 minute 1.3 mile drive (yes one point 3 miles, I typically have a great commute) home in the snow tonight (!) they spoke about nothing but the Bears vs Vikings match up, so I assumed that was on tonight. My bad, I WAS WRON...

Re: Houston GameDay Thread

HUGE opportunity for Tulane tonight. Game is on national TV on ESPN. Only two MAC games competing with it, Only 3 NBA games although one is Golden State at Houston, which may keep Houston's crowd down even more. A win on national TV to make us bowl eligible and in position to win the AAC West would...

Re: Houston Score Prediction Thread

My head tells me this is another game where Lucy pulls the proverbial ball away and Charlie Brown (Tulane) falls flat on his buttocks. We've seen too many of these "show the world we've turned the corner" games blow up in our faces. But my heart says this team has fought back from 2-5 when it could ...

Re: ESPN Invitational Playoff Rankings

That doesn't address the SOS issue. There is a difference. There just is. Like golf I think their #12 ranking is rightful recognition of it. Here's the problem with SOS. Its biased from the beginning. If you were to put the 12 AAC school ranked as #1 to #12 at the beginning of the year, most of us ...

2nd team he's been with this season. I hope he sticks with the Bucs, and can finish his career without having to move again! He's a great and reliable kicker, that, like all others, needs the snap and hold to be consistent. I felt horrible when his attempt to break the NCAA record for most consecuti...

Re: Houston game week info

With Houston's defensive issues, I hope we run the ball early and often and take advantage of Houston trying to stop the run like we did last week. If we rack up another 500 yards of offense, we should keep the Cougars off the field enough to outscore them. Oliver not playing would be a HUGE factor....

From afar, and not seeing much of the FSU game, and none of this game, I would like to see Dunleavy getting the team to play with the same intensity regardless of the crowd, the opponent, or any other factor that is totally out of their control.

Yep, McMillan didn’t join the team until late August and yesterday was only his 3rd start. And already, just as for Banks as well, our wide receivers have now dropped a number of perfect passes he has thrown that could have been game changers. Yet, we are now 3-0 for McMillan as starting qb. :D Cle...

Way back in the summer I asked "what's up with the $50 ECU tickets?" The response was "That's Homecoming." I immediately said "way to try to rape your alumni." How'd that work out, Troy?
