Re: UConn Athletic Dept Generates $40M But...

There are any articles from the Uconn perspective with similar sentiments. They are uneducated “hot takes” to stir the fan base from nonsense local writers. They yearn for “glory days” big east basketball. They don’t understand athletics and despise the America for its non traditional non east coas...

Re: Mike Dunleavy is now worst of the worst

I would not be surprised if Aresco calls Dannen after the season, and strongly suggests that something needs to be done. Good point. The team is so bad that it's dragging the conference down, and if we start winning a few games, it would hurt the poor team that caught us on the wrong night more tha...

Re: MD is now worst of the worst

Some additional worst of the worst facts. Of the top dozen basketball conferences (based on the NCAAs NET power ranking) , Tulane is only 2nd to Portland from the WCC in two power ranking statistics that measure competitiveness in conference. These rankings haven't been updated yet for Saturday's g...

Re: UConn Athletic Dept Generates $40M But...

Why UConn should probably drop to FCS It’s not something many fans want to hear, but FBS football is really expensive! If you’re not selling tickets, don’t have a credible way to success, and have money problems, FCS could make a lot of sense. Even for certain Power 5 programs, it’s at least worth ...

Re: Potential Men’s Basketball Coaches thread

Gee it's great that we can run a drill effectively, and better than we could three years ago. That and a a few dollars will give you a trolley ride down St. Charles. Unfortunately, our team has not learned the most important skill: how to win, We're losing more often than at any time in Tulane Baske...

Re: Potential Men’s Basketball Coaches thread

Great post, QB, way to get us back on topic! I like all of your suggestions HC wise. Could we pay Mike Davis or Steve Alford enough to have them come to New Orleans? I'd certainly hope both are on the list for TD to speak with.

Re: McCleskey is aboard

I hope Montano can make the jump as well. It's a bigger one than Fisher made as Montano is coming from FCS (and the Ivy League where there's no athletic scholarships.) Hopefully we will find a few O-linemen between the 2018 and 2019 classes that can step up and contribute, and be coached up by Hall ...

Re: UConn Athletic Dept Generates $40M But...

During the 60's, 70' & 80's whole swaths of entire ACC rosters were from Pennsylvania, New Jersey & New York I am glad a Connecticut kid worked out for TCU. If you think Fairfield County has anything to do with Connecticut & New England you are crazy. I've lived here (and had vacation homes in VT a...

Re: UConn Athletic Dept Generates $40M But...

Meh. I am originally from the big east area, and I hate their smug elitism. So based on this- football lost 8m. Cool, so if the AAC gets 10m or even 9m a season per team as reported, can we shut the bitchy catholic school, basketball only (and aspiring uconn) fans up as their shitty team breaks eve...

Re: UConn Athletic Dept Generates $40M But...

How did their women’s team lose $3 million. They dominate the sport in every way. Yep. I was wondering that as well. Sounds like funny business there. If UCONN women’s basketball loses money there’s no hope for any WBB program out there. That's hard to believe! The Women's basketball program has a ...

Re: New O-Line Coach ?

Cody Kennedy certainly has been a full time O-Line Coach in the past, and was very well respected as such. That's what landed him the job at UGa, and what got him the job at Tulane. https://twitter.com/CoachCKennedy/status/1085907118211981314 He has worked with Hall before. Hall was a HC at D2 Weste...

I wish the young man well.....but, after our last hire with previous Georgia ties..... As do I but does it make sense to hire a grad assistant? We shall see. it is within "budget constraints" I'm pretty sure I've read that our pool for paying assistant coaches went up significantly with the new reg...

Anyone getting a game feed via ESPN3? I'm getting nothing. I'm watching on SNY, a local cable station that is the home of the NY Mets and UConn basketball. Since it is available on SNY, it's blacked out on ESPN3 or watch ESPN in CT. Unfortunately I have the UConn announcers, who say nothing about t...

Getting back on track, I still like the two coaches mentioned earlier in this thread: The coach at LSU-A and the coach at Furman. I think either one would have more wins with this roster.

We play Army the first weekend in October (and I'll be there, what a great time of year to go to beautiful West Point!) so I would think that's our fifth game unless we have an early bye week. But you're right, if we're undefeated and have wins against both Auburn and Army, we'd be in the top 20. I'...

Re: Football Recruiting -- 2019

OU's back up QB Austin Kendall has just entered the NCAA transfer portal. He was to be the new OU starting QB, with Kylar Murray going into the NFL draft. This strongly suggests that Jalen Hurts will be heading to OU, and Kendall is squeezed out between Hurts (1 year eligibility), and Spencer Rattl...

Bicoastalwave: I think for us to get votes we're going to have to beat one of UCF/Auburn/Army and be very competitive in the other two games. To finish the season in the top 25 we would need to win the division outright and be competitive in the conference championship game. I would like to think th...
