Re: Houston GameDay Thread

Legacy Moment: https://www.theadvocate.com/new_orleans/sports/tulane/article_67fbb852-e850-11e8-a3e8-73ab2f2bcdce.html Less than 24 hours till kick-off. I can feel the excitement. Interesting calculation on the GreenWave's chances of becoming bowl-eligible over the next two games. I believe calcula...

Re: Houston GameDay Thread

Actually it's Green Bay v. Seattle. An Interesting match-up too. During my 20 minute 1.3 mile drive (yes one point 3 miles, I typically have a great commute) home in the snow tonight (!) they spoke about nothing but the Bears vs Vikings match up, so I assumed that was on tonight. My bad, I WAS WRON...

Re: Houston GameDay Thread

HUGE opportunity for Tulane tonight. Game is on national TV on ESPN. Only two MAC games competing with it, Only 3 NBA games although one is Golden State at Houston, which may keep Houston's crowd down even more. A win on national TV to make us bowl eligible and in position to win the AAC West would...

Re: Houston Score Prediction Thread

My head tells me this is another game where Lucy pulls the proverbial ball away and Charlie Brown (Tulane) falls flat on his buttocks. We've seen too many of these "show the world we've turned the corner" games blow up in our faces. But my heart says this team has fought back from 2-5 when it could ...

Re: ESPN Invitational Playoff Rankings

That doesn't address the SOS issue. There is a difference. There just is. Like golf I think their #12 ranking is rightful recognition of it. Here's the problem with SOS. Its biased from the beginning. If you were to put the 12 AAC school ranked as #1 to #12 at the beginning of the year, most of us ...

2nd team he's been with this season. I hope he sticks with the Bucs, and can finish his career without having to move again! He's a great and reliable kicker, that, like all others, needs the snap and hold to be consistent. I felt horrible when his attempt to break the NCAA record for most consecuti...

Re: Houston game week info

With Houston's defensive issues, I hope we run the ball early and often and take advantage of Houston trying to stop the run like we did last week. If we rack up another 500 yards of offense, we should keep the Cougars off the field enough to outscore them. Oliver not playing would be a HUGE factor....

Re: Tulane Beats Coastal Carolina 81-76

From afar, and not seeing much of the FSU game, and none of this game, I would like to see Dunleavy getting the team to play with the same intensity regardless of the crowd, the opponent, or any other factor that is totally out of their control.

Re: ECU GameDay Thread

Yep, McMillan didn’t join the team until late August and yesterday was only his 3rd start. And already, just as for Banks as well, our wide receivers have now dropped a number of perfect passes he has thrown that could have been game changers. Yet, we are now 3-0 for McMillan as starting qb. :D Cle...

Re: If you want more fans in the stands

Way back in the summer I asked "what's up with the $50 ECU tickets?" The response was "That's Homecoming." I immediately said "way to try to rape your alumni." How'd that work out, Troy?

Re: ECU GameDay Thread

And I Agree with your observations This is an interesting game. ECU's strengths/weaknesses kind of match up against ours. Good thing they can't run the ball. McM is doing great taking what the D is giving. Looks like the $50 tickets backfired, there's PLENTY of empty seats. Homecoming. That's what ...

Re: ECU GameDay Thread

I think mcm has been accurate and made good decisions (very few mistakes). Playcall has been too conservative. He has had several drops and maybe has thrown it too hard at times (I still put it on the receivers). Keep throwing slants ! Throw some screens! More passes to the TE’s ! These ECU punts h...

ECU’s quarterback is easily the worst I’ve seen in years.
I don't think it's any worse than our QB play. Despite two long TD's, McM is far from accurate.

Re: ECU GameDay Thread

How about Special Teams coach recognizing that the placekicker is punting, and moving our return man up 10 yards? That's twice we've given up 15+ yards of field position because we didn't catch the punt, which took a great ECU bounce both times.

Re: ECU GameDay Thread

4th and one and we can't make a yard! And a horrible play called. Bradwell would have been better under center and pushing the pile. The ECU strength is their D line, which is very highly ranked in tackles for losses. We need to test the perimeter more often, and throw enough to keep them honest. L...

No, I've been admitting I'm wrong since day 1. You still haven't admitted you were wrong about scheduling Notre Dame, the run/pass ratio, and about 100 other topics. Enjoy the beautiful fall day in New Orleans. This is football weather at it's finest.
