Re: Lines Opens Memphis 13.5 pts. > Tulane

Not accurate at all. When we opened up the offense last year is when we rebounded and almost made a Bowl game. After the Wake game we’ve reverted to being run heavy and we are back to losing. We don’t have the line to dictate the game. You’ve even agreed the run blocking isn’t good. We need balance...

Re: Lines Opens Memphis 13.5 pts. > Tulane

Other teams know what plays we are going to run based on down and distance. Our tendencies are very predictable. We call plays by the “book”. So other teams call their defense based on this. We run on run downs almost all the time. I agree. I only watch the games, sometimes a second (or in the case...

Re: Lines Opens Memphis 13.5 pts. > Tulane

We aren't good at running the ball. Dauphine has used his abilities to make some incredible runs which inflate the run stats. We've tried what you're saying for 2 1/2 seasons and it isn't working. Fritz himself has said again in a recent interview that we need to be balanced. BS: We ran significant...

Re: Lines Opens Memphis 13.5 pts. > Tulane

Memphis' D is suspect. They can be run on and we should get back to the 250 yards rushing Fritz's offense is capable of against an opponent of this quality. But we need our long drives to result in TD's, not unproductive visits to the red zone. As we know, if we're running effectively, it makes mixi...

Re: New Athletic Director

The problem isn’t the money and it’s also not the academics. Those are problems but not the Problem. The problem is nobody at Tulane knows how to win and understands what it takes to win. Agree. Money, facilities, academics, etc. all have an affect for sure and are likely barriers to what we all dr...

Re: New Athletic Director

I still think there's a real possibility of going to 4 conferences of 16 teams. Tulane would remain on the outside looking in. I also think the overall money is going to go down on a per school basis for the Power Conferences. And the "Power" conferences are very likely to form their own division, e...

Re: Lines Opens Memphis 13.5 pts. > Tulane

This is the game we better be ready from the first snap. We open conference play against a team that has basically owned us this century. It's time to put up or shut up for Fritz and his (and our) Green Wave. Come out flat here and EVERYTHING they told us this spring and summer was total BS.

Re: New Athletic Director

We won't get into any big money conference until Tulane's administration realizes that it will first have to step up and spend big bucks to bring Tulane into the modern intercollegiate world. That is the price that has to be paid for the deemphasis and all the disastrous decisions and stupidity ove...

Re: New Athletic Director

But, if Encalade makes the catch against Wake Forest and Banks doesn’t “gift” UAB a fumble for a touchdown, we are 3-0 right now and Fritz and Dannen are geniuses! ;) Yet that didn't happen. The Sky is Falling, the Sky is Falling. FWIW: I had us at 1-3 after four games and going to a bowl game.

Re: 2018 Tulane Volleyball season

Having watched my first volleyball match in years, I have to say it was impressive. Not knowing the game very well, the two downfalls I thought Tulane had were 1. Too many serve errors and 2. played balls that were either clearly wide or going long. WSU was better on both counts, and from my less-th...

Re: Wave beats the Wave Again as UAB wins 31-24

I like this topic—-it’s September and let’s get a coach to coach our coaches because they can’t coach. Watching UCF— they look like their in fast motion when compared to watching us. I guess you use a wide open offense when you can’t recruit gorillas for the o line. I'm watching UCF and this is the...

Re: 2018 Tulane Volleyball season

Major game for Tulane on the road vs the #1 Wichita State Shocker team. I just read they are expecting a sell out crowd which is around 10,000. When i loknar the stats Tulane has a real shot at pulling the upset. We’ll see how this young team responds to that type of atmosphere. There is a link on ...

Re: Wave beats the Wave Again as UAB wins 31-24

It's a nice pipedream to think we're going to change the offense or the offensive coordinator in the middle of the season. It's just not going to happen.

Re: Something good happened yesterday FB

I really prefer commercials to the wacky conversations of a sideline reporter and two announcers who had no clue how to fill the dead space. The conversation about "would you rather fight a duck the size of a bear or 10 bears the size of a duck" was the last straw for me.

Re: Something good happened yesterday FB

The radio broadcast have commercial breaks. And is there a contractual obligation to make those breaks as long as TV? If alternative media outlets like FB want to bid on and broadcast games, one of their calling cards should be shorter breaks and faster games. Throw the radio stations a bone and gi...

Re: Something good happened yesterday FB

I wasn't a fan of the Facebook broadcast. The woman on the sidelines was very pretty, but she talked about some of the most mundane BS that by the 3rd quarter I actually missed the commercials. But she did look good. And the whole broadcast was pro C-USA. The quality was every bit as good as ESPN3. ...

Re: Wave beats the Wave Again as UAB wins 31-24

I spent a little time searching, and winwave was right, I was wrong. Fritz didn't come out and say UAB is a lower level team, at least not publicly. I guess when I read two players saying it and Fritz making his "better team usually wins" comment I interpreted that as Fritz saying Tulane had the bet...

Re: UAB GameDay Thread

This talk of dropping football is retarded. Fritz just cannot hack it at this level. Look at CJ. He got us to a bowl in C-USA. Moved to AAC and couldn't compete. We just need someone who can coach above the JV level. Agreed about Fritz. Tulane just needs to hire the OC from a P5 that generally has ...

Re: UAB GameDay Thread

Who and what was said by a player? I guess he thinks we are the tops because we played in the Rose Bowl in the past. We also had a president who painted his head with lead green paint. Losing to a team who restarted football two years ago! That would be impossible—-but we can do the impossible. I h...

Re: UAB GameDay Thread

To those saying give up football remember that that means getting out of the AAC and likely ending up in the Southland. There will be no support for that. The way things are going Tulane gets kicked out of the AAC and UAB gets in. They are building a 45,000 seat stadium which will be expandable to ...
