Re: Ed Daniels Speaks Again

'Nut's post about professors is irrelevant to what ails Tulane Athletics. Tulane professors were not responsible for the "strategic blunder" in 1965 for withdrawing from the SEC or the "tactical blunders" for not hiring Lindy Infante in 1979 or saying "no" to Richard R...

Scott making official visit to Missouri this weekend https://twitter.com/swiltfong247/status/954499928121847809 He’s back to dreaming of playing in the SEC I guess. TPS, how sad it will be if we lost both McClain & Brantley over this mess for a kid who never had any real intention of playing fo...

Re: Football Recruiting 2018

Actually, Troy is further from Mobile than is New Orleans. According to Al.com (Same as NOLA.COM): "The three-star prospect, ranked No. 34 on the 247 composite rankings for 2018 prospects in Alabama, also had offers from Alabama State, Alcorn State, Appalachian State, Arkansas State, Army, Flo...

Re: Houston Game Thread

Dunleavy said at his introductory press conference that he'd love to play big games in Fogelman, and make it the home court advantage that it has the potential to be. I haven't read where he wants to get to the SKC, but I'm sure he wants to grow the program so that big games demand much more capaci...

Re: Lindsey Scott

No that was not imaginary. But all the talk here the last couple of months about why he should be coming here or should eliminate other schools, and everything else is made up and posted by us, not him. He did nothing. We made the rest of the story up. For all we know, Dannen told him certain classe...

Re: Lindsey Scott

Or, more accurately, we have been imagining things that makes it seem like he's playing us. What exactly did he do? Nothing. But I agree it sure doesn't look like he's coming here. He may sit the semester out and go where he chooses signing in March or April. Yes, he'll miss spring practice, and pro...

Re: Houston Game Thread

Expansion is a tough proposition from what I've read in other threads over the years. I know Golfnut69 has seen plans years ago that called for rotating the court 90 degrees, pushing out the back wall and expanding towards the UC. That would give the building a much bigger footprint and thus allow m...

Re: Houston Game Thread

Just finished watching the game for a second time. The Frazier ejection was absolutely ridiculous. The refs called 6 Tulane fouls in 35 seconds at that time. Clearly both players were jawing but not going after each other physically, and it wasn't anything obvious. The ref that made the call should...

Re: Houston Game Thread

Watching the game on my ESPN app last night, the inside of Fogleman looked like it did in the early nineties. Great win against a quality opponent. Daniels is a special player. We're at 12-6, I think 19 wins is the magic number for an NIT bid. Watching on my TV, I saw plenty of good seats available...

Re: Houston Game Thread

I want to add that the rebounding effort in the 2nd half was outstanding. Complete turnaround It was definitely better than the first half but that’s not saying much. We outrebounded them overall in the game. That means we were + 13 in the second half. And after getting 15 offensive rebounds in the...

Talk about shady reporting: Today's Advocate online has the following headline: "Privateers 'poor in every aspect' as UNO drops conference game 81-57 to Central Florida". The first paragraph or two talks about Central Florida making their way to a chilli Lakefront Arena. It's not until th...

Re: Houston Game Thread

The adjustments from the first half to the second half were obvious: Tulane prevented Houston from dominating the offensive glass after getting schooled on the boards in the first half. Also, after an horrible first half at the line, Tulane was something like 12 of 15 in the second half. I was conce...

Good news as he's considered a top 60 pitcher prospect in the country. I'll try not to hold his love of the Yankees against him.

Most morning flights were cancelled or seriously delayed. Starting at 1 PM (at least as of now) most flights are still showing scheduled and on time. I know the local DT is enrolling in January. Did the other kid, I believe from Mississippi, get his issues cleared so that he can enroll? Both were solid recruits, the one from Mississippi (as we know) was recruited by a bunch of big name schools until a medical scare last summer.

Many colleges don't close unless its a hurricane/tornado situation. Schools are different, school districts have children in busses all ove...
