Re: Tulane in NFL draft 2018

I think Parry will get drafted before his evil twin Perry. :D I think most see it in the same order. Badie will get a UFA contract. Wilson will likely get a camp invite and Marbley may too. Franklin might also get a look. Right on with the spelling of Mr. Nickerson's first name! I made the correcti...

Re: SBNATION on The Wave

It's a fun thing to do, and, fortunately or not, we can come back and look at this thread in November and see how it played out. If Banks gets hurt, I'm going to be way off. Some of my calculations were based upon what I saw last year and how I think the team will step up this year under Fritz. Othe...

Re: Tulane in NFL draft 2018

It's funny Jersey started this thread the way he did. I was thinking about a poll: Which Tulanian (or former Greenie) would be drafted first: 1. Parry Nickerson 2. Ade Aruna 3. Dontrell Hilliard 4. Tanner Lee. Frankly, I think Lee is the last one of the 4 to get picked. Perry did a whole lot, partic...

Is Massey all but done pitching? He has not seen the field in quite a while.
Pitched pretty well last night, scattering 9 hits but only giving up 1 earned run in 5.2 innings.

Re: Tulane Beats TSU 8-2

We need to win all four remaining conference series, with a sweep or two included. A tall order, given how competitive the conference is this year. UCF, ECU and UConn are all quality teams at least as good as we are. At a bare minimum, we need to make the AAC tournament.

Ray Ona Embo has thrown his hat into the 2018 Draft Pool. http://pr.nba.com/wp-content/uploads/sites/46/2018/04/2018-Early-Entry-Candidates.pdf See page 4. Also, interesting to note that there's more declared for the draft than will be picked. A whole lot more. Many of these kids will pull back eith...

But if you have an AD that supports your baseball program to the extent that TCU's former AD did, guess what? They "FIND A WAY" to make it happen. What's changed is the AD, not the rules.

Re: SBNATION on The Wave

Just for $hits and giggles, I thought I'd give a shot at handicapping the schedule. Keep in mind these predictions are out the window by the 3rd of 4th week of the season. But I don't agree with the S&P analysis so I'll give it a shot. You can make fun of me at the end of the season, b/c I'm putting...

Steve, I too thank you for all you do for this great forum. I sell software for a living, and virtually every change, regardless of how many improvements are in the update, a bunch of people complain that it's different. It's human nature to resist change. That being said here's my feedback: The old...

Re: Tulane Wins Game 2 against the Tiggers

Tim, I would email those notes to Dannen. He probably has no idea that the Baseball series with LSU has generated so much revenue in the past, so he's not thinking about ways to maximize the value of those games for both teams. If both teams do well with innovative thinking such as Rick Jones showed...

Re: Tulane Wins Game 2 against the Tiggers

I think most would disagree with your take. This is Tulane v. LSU. It's always a meaningful game. A lot of our disengaged fans will tune in. Then throw in the fact thar it may cost us the series in the future and it's a big deal. It's baseball. Yes, there's a very passionate group of maybe 2k fans ...

Re: Tulane Wins Game 2 against the Tiggers

In the big scheme of things, this is not nearly as big a deal as it's being turned into in this thread. This isn't Cowen going behind Sandy Barbour's back and hiring Scelfo, or some of the other bone-headed faux pas that continue to haunt Tulane fans. Yes, it's shooting ourselves in the foot once ag...

Re: Tulane Wins Game 2 against the Tiggers

There you have it. I still feel strongly that Dannen is a HUGE step up from his predecessor, but at the same time he needs to get the message that exposure is like advertising. Even if we got ZERO money from the TV coverage, it's free exposure, which our programs so desperately need. We might have m...

Re: Tulane Wins Game 2 against the Tiggers

LSU's Reveille makes no mention of our Wednesday night 10 to 9 win over the Tiggers. Positively LSU, no class act from A to Z. Even the loss of a baseball game to Louisiana's premier university must be denied. http://www.lsunow.com/daily/sports/ Can you blame a top 25 team for not bringing up a mid...

Re: SBNATION on The Wave

I agree that it’s not gospel, but that analysis has been pretty close over the last couple of seasons, as it predicted 5-7 for 2017 (accurate) and 3-8 in 2016 (off by 1 win). Hopefully, it will be off by 1 win again with its 5-7 prediction for 2018, but it’s hard to feel the same level of enthusias...

Re: SBNATION on The Wave

UAB and Wake should tell us what kind of team/season we'll have. Our conference play is much more difficult than OOC. Here's our schedule sorted by S&P win probability: Nicholls State 84% East Caroline 74% @Tulsa 50% Navy 48% SMU 43% @UAB 41% @Cinxinnati 38% Memphis 30% @Houston 26% Wake Forest 25%...

So open the part with the best view is my point. There wasn’t a lot of staffing there. Plus you if you’re going to do it do it right. Hopefully in the future the game will be scheduled for Saturday night at 7. I agree Saturday night at 7. And it should always coincide with FQF! So you would have ha...
