Re: Moses Wood transferring to UNLV

I wish him all the best. Thanks for giving to Tulane, I hope it works out for Moses at UNLV. That being said, I don't see others saying things like "another scholarship to work with" as disparaging a player that no longer wants to be here and thinks his UNLV diploma will do more for him than a Tulan...

Re: 2019 FB Schedule

For the life of me, how did CJ and company find a way to lose to FAU, Texas San Antonio, Rice and South Alabama that year? The 2013 should have been a 11-1 season. I think I picked us to go 10-2 that year. This year, I think Fritz can pull out another bowl game. We need consistency in our program. ...

Unfortunately (due to tuition payments), she's still there, only taking a couple of classes but she's on a 6 year program that will have her graduate with a double major and 10 credits short of her masters.

Re: 2019 FB Schedule

You know what? When we can put together three consecutive years of those elusive "bowl eligible" seasons, then maybe we can talk of dropping the FCS game. Now, when has that ever happened in our lifetime? NEVER. You have to walk before you can run. As for the 4 P5 schools thing, my point everyone c...

Play the schedule we play this year, go 10-2 and you'll have sellouts or close to sellouts the second half of the season.

Re: 2019 FB Schedule

I agree as well. But I do want to see an Oklahoma or Clemson on the schedule every other year. There's little chance of that happening. Maybe if we sign 5 game series starting in 2030 with both OU and Clemson, giving them 3 home games each, we'd have a prayer. We might even have to do 4 for 1 It re...

Re: 2019 FB Schedule

I agree with you, WaveQB. Maybe people should look at it the other way. How much of a "winning culture" can you build if you go 4-4 in conf every year, but go 0-4 in OOC, because you choose to play Auburn, Clemson, Virginia Tech and Oklahoma every season? A continuous string of 4-8 seasons would do...

Re: Tulane pitching blows up again,UNO wins Game 2 15-10

Jaxwave has a habit of absolving coaches of any and all blame because things are tougher on an expensive private school. It’s infuriating, until 2017 we rarely had problems with pitching. Coaches can’t be fully absolved but to Jax’s defense you do have less margin for error at a high dollar private...

Re: 2019 FB Schedule

You also don't build a winning culture by scheduling like you win 9-10+ games every year when you have only done it once in 20+ years. We won a POS bowl game that we were damned lucky to play in. BFD. Go out and follow it up with 8+ wins THIS YEAR and NEXT YEAR and win the division 2 out of 3 years...

Re: 2019 FB Schedule

What Eaglewave said. +1 We've had three winning seasons in this century. Win 8 games five years in a row, with 2 seasons of 10 wins, then we talk about getting a top 50 schedule. We're still WAY under .500 in conference. We all want to get into top 25 contention regularly. We're a long way from bei...

Re: 2019 FB Schedule

MOST teams in FBS play an FCS game. Even the big boys. Why limit it to only Louisiana schools? If we scheduled the perennial FCS powers we might lose, that's the only reason I can see. And I don't think that's not a good reason, along with helping out an in-state institution. We need that FCS win, j...

Re: Tulane Upset over Auburn ?

The talk about losing WF to a P5 is just as, if not more premature than the talk about upsetting Auburn.

Last year we had some of this discussion before the season then had many of the same posters calling for his job when we started 2-5!

Re: Hoese repeats

This young man is literally printing money for himself with this season. If he keeps it up, he'll be a very high draft pick. And clearly, as much as we ALL bemoan some of the coaching, he's come a long way since his Freshman year.

Re: Tulane Upset over Auburn ?

For Sagarin's rating system as of the end of last season, January 7th, 2019, Auburn playing at home would have been a 22.01 pt. favorite over the Wave. https://www.usatoday.com/sports/ncaaf/sagarin/2018/conference/ But, that was under our old OC, no Justin McMillan for our first 8 games and senior ...

We have SEC history with them, they are a southern peer university that I’m sure students have a lot of friends at, and gives us our best chance at beating an SEC team. I am sure they will draw better than FIU or our usually cast of characters. I am sure that the flies it did draw at Tulane stadium...

Re: Bill Connelly in depth look at 2019 Tulane football by the numbers

Should USF and Temple really in a tier above us ? I think at this point we should be in the same tier as those two. Time for us to make some statement wins Unless or until we start beating them regularly and winning more games than they do, yes, they should be a tier above us. Keep in mind we had a...

Re: whole lotta cheatin' goin on

As shocking as this is, it was somewhat predictable. Wade himself wasn't under investigation. LSU hasn't been a good basketball program in some time, and finally found a coach that knows how to win. It would be fitting if the NCAA later came down on them and LSU had to forfeit a bunch of wins.

Re: 19 / 20 MBB Recruiting

Langton ended up at a D-2 school last I heard. Thank goodness. That was the signing that confirmed that MD had no plan and was clutching at straws. He showed great promise, not playing in something like the last 7 games of his JUCO's season! Averaged about 3 ppg. Dunleavy could have turned him into...

Re: 19 / 20 MBB Recruiting

We had a highly recruited 4 star big man that had signed an LOI last fall. Noble Days is his name, and he had offers from BC, DePaul, K-State, Marquette and others. Does anyone know if he's still committed? 24/7 lists him and Henry Lagton as signed, but I don't know if that's still up to date.
