The Videos from Cotton Bowl and Celebrations

Dear Fellow Tulane Fans (almost said Greenies)- As I was not able to attend the Cotton Bowl, I listened live to Gloor and Barrios and have watched the highlights every day since. The YT algorithm has begun suggesting "Fan videos" from the stadium and elsewhere. Though some of these can cau...

Re: AAC Championship Game Today

...Tulane needs a share of the BCS money, Ah yes the reminder of the first BCS when the nation got the first whiff of relegation of the 60+ teams not in the BCS. and We were undefeated. The present system does put schools in a conflict of interest (COI), when it is in their better interest to lose ...

Well, I am sure it was immediately resented, It will be interesting to see it it has ben rescinded as well. It could be both by now. How efficient.

Anyway, kind of glad I'm not in that business at this moment. No easy way forward. Rough sledding all round. Roll Wave

Re: Somewhat depressed today

I generally agree that the Disney-backed moves by the Athletic Departments of several Universities, will not help us, We will soon have a P-4, and though retaining the title "National Champion" it will be less that 50 schools., and reality only about 25. Though Disney will continue to fund...

Re: Oklahoma Game Thread

Did anyone see the tweeted photo of The Wave at the Bama IPF.? Hugely nice gesture by The Department and it's leadership (Byrne and Saban) , not to mention having the resources to "bless " others. Really decent people. My wife who dislikes College football, really likes Saban and his messa...

Re: How changes affect Dannen

It almost doesn't matter. The NCAA is rapidly becoming irrelevant for football. When we were relegated to the Liberty Bowl in '98, it was pretty clear that the days of even having a whiff of national interest in Tulane (and similar schools) are long gone. DIsney runs College football, and has no reg...

Re: Line Moves ⬆️ To Tulane 10 pts. > South Alabama

Well, it is possible that the Wave could cover the O/U, by themselves. Just not sure CWF would keep his foot on the gas that much. All of his daily interviews talk about "playing a lot of guys" so get a big lead and get some strong new contributors. OTOH... if we see a bunch of eggs rollin...

Just like to say that I am impressed with Coach WF and his Approach to Covid 19 protocols all in same time of working the pre seasons drills. Has to be a huge balancing act. well done. WF, TD and PMF.

Re: What were the the fundamental circumstances

Just as a milepost along the way: the 2 Team BCS, a creation of Roy Kramer (Then SEC Commissioner) and others had it's first "BCS National Championship" or whatever they called it, at the end of the 98 season. Ours was one of the first to suffer the "Lockout" or monopoly or carte...

Escort to Handshake at games end

I read that the NCAA now requires the Head Coaches to be escorted by State Troopers (or similar) to the end of game handshake.

Who escorts Coach Fritz?

Not to mention other memorable handshakes...
