Re: Michael Pratt NFL evaluation

He's met with the Broncos both at the Senior Bowl and the Combine. Given that they just announced plans to release Russell Wilson after the official start of the 2024 NFL season ( and thus will endure $85 Million in dead cap money over the next two seasons ), it wouldn't surprise me if they took Pra...

Re: Pratt, Jackson and Pines invited to 2024 NFL Combine

Someone on Reddit posted this factoid of the Combine that only 3 of the 14 invited QBs did NOT transfer schools during college:

Michael Pratt
Drake Maye
JJ McCarthy

Re: Charlotte Beats Hunter 75-71

He began by moving the Tulane bench to the opposite end of Fogleman (screwing up many long-held season seats, including mine). Did he give a particular reason why he made that change? We had just finished a season without a single conference win. When he took the job, he said he was going to change...

i was there I was there too. Great night !That was when the gym had 5,000 seats. Plus you had people standing all along the railings up top. Yep. Same here. I was two years out of school and kept my tickets midcourt sec A. Not sure if we had heat or not but we definitely didn’t have AC back then. T...

Re: Michael Pratt NFL evaluation

I think Pratt will be stellar in all of his workouts and interviews leading up to the Draft, and his stock will elevate as a result. Every team needs some quality and affordable depth at QB, as this NFL season has shown (nearly 60 different quarterbacks have started a game this season).

Tulane now 3-4 since Coach Hunter's "one of the best teams in the country is playing here at Tulane in the city of New Orleans" statement back in December. I hope the coaches and the team can figure things out. I appreciate his enthusiasm and interaction with the student section during hom...

Well shut my mouth, what an unbelievable day of recruiting. Trying to think back to class that landed Roydell Williams, Ronald McClendon & JP Losman, the only time frame remotely comparable. Those weren't all in one day though. I graduated in 1982, been waiting 45 years to see a recruiting day ...

The Roydell Williams at Alabama, now in portal, is that the son of our Roydell. Fairly certain there is no direct familial relation between these two Roydells. Thanks. That's the way I remember it when he was being recruited. As an aside, Tulane Roydell was one of my favorite players from that era....

Incredible. Sumrall’s first portal guy a 5 star QB. Good riddance Willie. Fritz brought this program from the unknown to the known. He brought us from participating in the NOLA Bowl to the Cotton Bowl. He made a dram come true. We have to put some respect on his name! Hard agree here. He left the p...

Boy, "purplehaze" over at yoggie wasn't messing around when he said Tulane signed it's biggest recruit ever a few weeks ago. HS Rankings (2021): Rivals 9th overall nationally, #2 QB ESPN: 67/15 On3: 36/6 Thompson is definitely up there as one of the biggest Tulane recruits/transfers of all...

Willie Simmons leaves FAMU Head Coach job for Duke's running backs coach job

Interesting move for Willie Simmons, leaving FAMU as head coach to taking the running backs coach job at Duke: https://www.espn.com/college-football/story/_/id/39222935/famu-coach-willie-simmons-expected-coach-duke-rbs I would imagine (and hope) that the job comes with a healthy bump over his FAMU s...

Really good news for the team and for Coach Sumrall. While Horton's performances have been uneven, virtually all of the games that he either started and played most of the time (at #2 Cincy 2011, at UH 2022, home vs #11 Ole Miss 2023, and bowl game vs VaTech 2023) have been against high level compet...

I went to the game yesterday. I'm grateful for the foundation and culture he helped build at Tulane.

But he's yesterday's news as far as I'm concerned. He'll be dealing with the expectations from a school that's paying both him and his predecessor a combined $35M over the next 4 years, so I don't envy him.
