Re: UCONN looking to leave AAC for Big East

Tulane has certain value beyond its on the field performance - Louisiana recruiting, New Orleans media market access [not control], academic relevance, etc. - but, in regard to on the field performance, the football programs appears to be stabilizing. Those beyond the field value should be really w...

Re: UCONN looking to leave AAC for Big East

Oh. And as much as we want to be a P6. We won't. The AAC won't. It's not going to happen. You want to be included with the best? Then you beat the best and become one of them. I honestly really wish all this P6 crap would stop too. We are NOT a power conference. Never was, never will be.

Re: UCONN looking to leave AAC for Big East

If the AAC was truly serious about being a national power, it would kick out Navy, ECU, and Tulsa, and bring on San Diego State, Boise State, BYU, and (most likely) Colorado State (to get to 12 total football programs), as doing so would solidify the conference as a major alternative to the P5. You...

Re: Wave lands a commitment from Justin Ibieta QB!!!!

If I were to advise an athletically gifted son on what sport to focus on it would be baseball, without a doubt. Guaranteed money and they take long walks with their grandchildren (unless you're a catcher). Guaranteed money? You think? Eh, I don't know about that. Unless you make it all the way, mos...

Re: Jonathan "Adam" Chaney - 3* ILB Commits

The vibe surrounding the football program right now is almost palpable. It’s crazy. I remember just at mid season I was doubting WF . Then the switch to McMillan, minor bowl win , new OC and now the recruiting quality upgrade . There is a real chance of making huge strides as a program this fall. P...

Re: New Team

The excitement is understandable, but some caution is in order. At the .53 , in response to “What should the fans be excited about for this season”, Coach Hunter said “winning.” I heard nothing about leading these young men through the travails of life, graduation rates, or even tillage and floricu...

Jonathan Chaney out of Alabama was in for a visit today. Has offers from LSU, South Carolina, Vanderbilt, etc. Heard he loved his Tulane visit. He's a 3 star linebacker who also plays D End. Stay tuned!

Re: CWS #1 seed jinx continues now straight 20 years

As much as it pains us to say it it is the best baseball conference by far and they are in the toughest division in baseball. They've done a lot better than .500 in it to get there in most of their NCAA years. They would no doubt make us much better. We'll have to agree to disagree. Agreed. LSU / S...

Re: Blog Weekly News Recap

Great job, Steve. Didn't the offensive lineman (Oldner?) join the fold last week? Either way, great idea and execution. Thanks! And yes, there were a couple of other happenings I ran across after I posted. I guess it all just depends on what I see/find throughout the week, as well as what stories a...

Re: New Cleats?

Over they years, many of us have criticized the failure of past Tulane administrators to recognize and react to new developments in the intercollegiate athletic world. Let’s not fall into the same bucket, even if it’s just unis. If the young athletes want flashy unis, so be it. Remember most of the...

Re: Gozzo Signs with Phillies

Good for him. And I have to imagine Jewett coming back next year also played into his decision to sign. I know. Hoese coming back with TJ as the coach was a huge mistake :P Should have signed with the Royals (38th round) for peanuts. Who wants $2.75 million? He's not hungry now. TJ might not be the...
