Re: Football Recruiting 2018

Is the early signing period helping us close the deal with a lot of these recruits?

Re: FSU Game Thread

Spread is 13 points. I know some around here thought it would be much more but Vegas is treating this as a neutral site game although I expect FSU fans will outnumber Tulane's by 50 fold. Shoot well and limit the turnovers and perhaps Tulane's "nearer-the-floor" front court can hang with ...

Re: Coaching Changes

Morris brought in his P5 and JUCO mercenaries for a short term pop, which he barely got with the hideous goal line call. He will definitely cash in with the first offer he gets. I agree, him going to Arkansas says a lot more about where Arkansas stands than where Morris stands--similar to the embar...

Re: Tulane beats Southern 95-76

lots of future fans at game not many current ones good effort by the wave lets see how team against fsu A win against FSU should give us 10 OOC wins. 8 games home&away to USF/ECU/Tulsa/Memphis. Gotta win at least 6. Another 4 games at home SMU/Houston/UCONN/Temple. 2 wins here would be fantasti...

Re: UNC Game Thread

You have to be disappointed in the team's performance. Last year in November, Tulane had a much weaker team (no Cornish or Sehic), UNC had even a better team (eventual national champs), and yet we held them to 20 points in the Dome (95-75). Before you rebut that we had a home-field advantage, we di...

Re: UNC Game Thread

UNC won this game. Tulane didn't lose it. A better larger faster more skilled team beat decisively a worse smaller slower less skilled team. Disappointing? Sure. Look we root for Tulane and the very improbable upset. It didn't happen. Vegas had UNC as a 20 point favorite. It won by 24. [b] It's the...

Re: UNC Game Thread

We were never going to win this game. I don’t mind scheduling it, because you need to give yourself a measuring stick every now and then. But we don’t have the talent to win a game like this in Chapel Hill or even be competitive in it. The bigger concern for me is that once teams started playing zon...

Re: UCF/Memphis

The winner of this will go to NYD bowl regardless.

Hoping UCF can pull this out because I think they are our best shot at winning that game. Although both teams are really good. People can mock these defenses but a lot of these points are coming from offenses just making plays.

Re: Post season analysis

We played 8 games in the league this year and 6 were within one score either way (the other two were a blowout of Tulsa and a blowout of Memphis). We can play with the teams in this league, and I feel like we are going to have another 6 or so games next year in conference that are going to come down...

Re: Tulane embarrassed at Georgia State 70-59

I guess that 15 point loss to Prairie View is no worse than 17 point loss by CSU to FSU. Yeah. Right. We lost to them by 11 on a night we shot what, 24% from the field? And 1 of 15 (6%) from behind the arc? And turned it over what, 20+ times. Georgia State is a powerhouse, that's for sure. But the ...

Re: Football Recruiting 2018

You can’t measure him relative to other Tulane players just because we aren’t used to having four star players and demand that he be so much better than anyone else on the roster (especially as a safety!) You have to measure him against four-star safeties. He is pretty much what you get from a four-...

Re: Football Recruiting 2018

Darion Monroe didn't live up to his 4 star status, that's for sure. He started literally *every* game for us for four years except one where CJ suspended him for some team rules thing. He had over 330 tackles over those four years, that is an average of 82/year from the safety position (with some c...

Re: Post season analysis

Comparing Fritz and Frost is ridiculous. UCF has no admissions standards. The idea that admissions standards are what prevents Tulane from winning is an absurd myth that failing coaches trot out in year 3 or 4. Tulane has the same NCAA MINIMUM standards that everyone else in college football uses a...

Re: Georgia State Game Thread

Who could have predicted this might be a tough spot for us. But please, tell me again that they lost to Prairie View. I did take us moneyline in this game and am still hopeful. But Vegas was generally right in thinking this would be a test. Only because we let it. I was taking that into account whe...

Re: Georgia State Game Thread

1-15 from 3 pt today. 6.7% Tough to win against anyone shooting like that. We won’t beat Alcorn shooting that %. We won’t shoot like that back at Devlin in a weeknight game. Throw this one out. “Show Me” was right, this was bad scheduling. This team’s head was never in this game. The good thing is ...

Re: Wave over Miami(OH.) 80-59 go to 5-0

For those who said that Georgia State would not be a test for us: As I suspected, we are 4.5 point dogs tomorrow. I think we are still going to win, but this is not an easy spot for us. It’s our first true road game, it’s at noon, and we are catching an above average team coming off a massive upset...

Re: Final call

http://u.cubeupload.com/Tpstulane/9E7AA085A6744EDCB760.jpeg The ball is across the plane there. Use his helmet as your reference point. Ball is level with the helmet, and his helmet his overlapping the goal line. That’s a TD. Could be but I can see them not being able to overturn the original call....
