Re: Troy Calhoun of Air Force

An 8 win season will have the place back to the usual 2-3,000 against these schedules. 11 wins this season couldn't even fill it for the last 2 games that had a lot riding on them. Decades of frustration isn’t wiped out by one Cotton Bowl victory. Yes, the fan support is lacking. Yes, they need to ...

Re: Troy Calhoun of Air Force

Exactly the thinking that resulted in Fritz at UH. Exactly. The last two years should encourage us to go even bigger. With the expanded playoffs we need to have our eyes on something much bigger than winning the Cotton. Let’s think: national champions. How do we get there? If you want a national ch...

Re: New HC profile

Someone on other board saying Troy Calhoun a candidate. Interesting. Similar to Fritz in that ran an option offense but won and experienced HC. Yeah, I don't think another coach who runs the triple option is going to be viewed warmly by our fans and alum. Calhoun runs the triple option at Air Force...

Re: New HC profile

Tulane should stick with the Fritz model: a head coach who has a winning track record. No has beens. Someone who used to be great is the wrong approach. No one with character questions. Someone who respects the academic mission of Tulane, but who also won’t use high academic standards as an excuse. ...

I could see anyone if these guys keeping us in the Bowl Hunt consistently. As I said before we brought in Fritz, we need a Head Coach who will keep us in Bowl Games no matter what. We can’t get P5 invitations by falling out of the Bowl loop. 1. Jon Sumrall 2. Art Briles 3. Rich Rodriguez 4. Al Good...

Grow up Pepper, Pratt does not have Heisman stats across his career, winning one game against the Heisman winner does not make a career. Tygae made the passing game work, let's see next year if Pratt will have a easy time throwing without Tygae. Facts Pepper check USC running game virtually did not...

Re: Loyola MBB cracks the NAIA top 25

#15 this week, . One thing I like about the NAIA coaches poll is that the poll is every few weeks or so, so when you lose a game or win a big one voters can assess a bigger slate of games to put those into a larger context. And that means less volatility in the polls. When you climb upwards a bunch ...

Re: Someone thinks Ole Miss game should be moved to Dome

Tulane can leverage the scarcity/demand for Ole Miss tickets to sell season packages for the whole season (particularly given the, uh, lack of local appeal for the rest of the home slate). So there is zero chance Troy will even think about moving that Ole Miss game. Troy? Here’s my projection about...

No worries. We started this past season in some outlets in the #100’s.
ESPN’s way too early poll has Tulane at 16 for next year.

Re: Cotton Bowl TV ratings hit record

It was a record low. But at 4,165,000 it was the most highly rated Tulane game in my 53 years. It also out-rated the LSU Citrus Bowl game by about 800,000 viewers. USC was likely the reason for the low rating because their fans were disappointed about playing Tulane.

Anyway, Roll Wave!

Re: Tulane Beats USC 46-45 to win the Cotton Bowl!

Consider the last Tulane play when Bauman caught the pass in the end zone that was ruled incomplete by the official: It wasn’t that the referee called it incomplete, he was dramatic and pounded the ground several times emphasizing his call. To this I say, WTH??? Clearly the ball never hit the groun...

In the last 4 completed seasons one AAC team finished in the top 10. That was UCF in 2017. The list: 2016: USF-19th 2017- UCF 7 USF 21 Memphis 25 2018: UCF 11 Cincy 24 2019: Memphis 17 Navy 20 Cincy 21 UCF 24 So UCF is the only one who fit your criteria. I can’t find the telecast anywhere Freakin joke. If you want to support and watch the team, TU does nothing to make it accessible. Freaking people in NY can watch it not in NOLA. Loyola’s men’s basketball team is off to a fast and scintillating start at 7-0. And they are on pace to break the NAIA record for team average ppg By averaging 113 points per game.
