Re: Future OOC Games

OSU has the elite players that could physically put a heavy toll on ours that could carry over. Wake and GT are just well coached teams that would not do the same. It'sthe type of schedule that we need. As much as we want to talk our conference up it still doesn't have teams that excite many fans. ...

Transfer

Freddie Canteen, a WR , is transferring in and will be eligible immediately. He went to Michigan and transferred to ND. He could have two years of eligibility. He's had injury issues. He's reportedly finally healthy. This could be a really good pick up.

Re: Tulane Baseball still amongst the Elites

This is just Curtis Akey doing his job of putting a positive spin on things. He’s good at it. We just lost wo pitchers to the pros. The coaches are scrambling to get some good arms in so they want a positive vibe out there.

Re: Rice Baseball job filled by Matt ...

What we do know is all of those assistant coaches won immediately when they got here. The other guy, well we are still waiting. Selfishly, I'm glad Riser didn't get the job. Hopefully he will be a Greenie once again. Yes they did.Proving that the hire doesn't have to be a proven HC. As to Riser if ...

Re: Rice Baseball job filled by Matt ...

No big deal but it was 16 years. The point is neither was a proven HC at this level. Also the best coach we ever had was a football coach who was a long time assistant with no HC experience, Tommy Bowden. So while everyone would love to get a proven winner that's not the only way to get a good HC. S...

Re: Rice Baseball job filled by Matt ...

Right. All at lower levels. He had no D-1 HC experience. So he was not a proven winner at this level .Jewett moved up to D-1 the year after being names the National JC Coach of the Year.

Re: Rice Baseball job filled by Matt ...

RJ was an assistant at GT. That one worked out. This one hasn't so far. We'll have the final answer this year on him. In basketball an assistant named Perry Clark worked out pretty good for us.

Re: Graff mentioned in 5 possible candidates for Saints PBP job

If Graff takes the Saints gig, then lure Jim Henderson out of retirement to do Tulane football only. Since Jim likes to have former football players as color commentators, get Matt Forte to do that. Then you would have two guys with NFL experience (broadcasting and playing) doing college football. ...

Re: RIP Bill Curl

Sorry to hear. Prof Curl taught the only journalism course, sportswriting, offered at Tulane when I was there. I took it with Hot Rod and the other hoops players. For our "final," we watched a TU game at the gym, and afterward Hot Rod, the team and I sat in the stands and wrote our gamers. Good tim...

Re: Wake's QB Suspended

Newman is definitely a downgrade. Yes. But he’ll get a lot more work now to prepare for his start. We all know that. It doesn't change the fact that it's not Hinton who had some starts and was going to likely progress during the year and have a good year. This kid hasn't played a meaningful snap an...

Re: Wake's QB Suspended

Thank you Debbie Downer. Not meant to be just had it been the week of the game then it would be better. Just saying the other QB now has 3 months to get prepared. That’s a lot of time. Just read that he was a potential starter. He was backup last year. From the story: Hinton was the team’...

Re: Wake's QB Suspended

In all seriousness what I hope to see that night is for us to win with our offense looking really good. We have a fifth year QB who is in the same system two years in a row for the first time in his career. He finished strong as we opened things up. Defensively we got some players in early on defens...
