Re: COACH WF BUZZ

I'd think Kansas would be interested - they might see the option as a path to respectability; they also recruit NOLA very well right now and might see a natural bridge. Football ops is a must; as are raises across the board and increased recruiting budget. But, as always, it's how you replace that i...

Re: Lindsey Scott commits to LSU now transferring to EMCC

Scott would fit with most SEC offenses; the only ones he really wouldn't fit with are LSU and Alabama.
He'd be nice here. He'd be, what, a sophomore, sit for a year, and then take over for 2.

Re: Tulane destroys the Hurricane- 62-28

By the way, did you notice just how deep we went on the bench? PJ Hurst got QB time, Miles Strickland, Andrew Zuckerman and even Jared Bertrand got rushing carries. If we had stuck with our starters the whole game, we would have been in the 70's easy. Not only that- they ate up most of the last 5 m...

Re: Tulsa Game Thread

We'll be Tulsa's third option or optionish team in a row they see, so yards may not come that easily.
Still, they are no good. They, and the 2 after that, need to be Ws.

We're a young team that will get better.
The pre-conference slate was really weak (never helps a thing), so the record was inflated.

Re: Congrats UL-M Warhawks 56, ULALA 50!!!

College football is usually great when two long-time rivals square off; this contest didn't disappoint. Yeoman comeback effort by Cajuns. I do have a question, Fanatico. When ULL is lucky to get one of the teams on your list on its schedule in any year right now, how in the world are they supposed t...

Re: Tanner Lee

That first pick 6 was insane. Like the CB knew the play before it was called. Really hard to blame that on the QB the CB just gambled and jumped the route . . Nothing to lose in that part of the field. See Tulane v Memphis 2014: first play of the game. Seems to be a pattern. He stared down receiver...

Re: 2017 Volleyball

Well the program is obviously in great hands and the trend is up. It did seem to me, however, that the pre-conference schedule was a tad light. Oklahoma is a nice name to beat, but they aren't very good. Didn't play many road games either. Hopefully we'll do well in league play. Doc...c'mon any win...

Re: Navy 23 - Tulane 21

We do lose a lot on defense next year; but a lot of young guys are in the rotation. A true frosh was our 2nd leading tackler yesterday. Cam Sample had more tackles than Washington and Aruna combined. We lost our 2 best defenders from last season (or at least 2 of the best 3) and we aren't missing a ...

He threw a ton of INTs at Tulane, many unforced. (see first play of Memphis game, 2014, e.g.). Apparently he still does.
I hope he learns and improves.

We've handled Navy defensively for 2 straight years. If we make it 3 in a row, I like our chances.

Re: Grambling GameDay Thread

I honestly don't know how anyone could watch that Grambling team and conclude they were solid or at all well-prepared to play in this game. They committed a delay of game penalty on the FIRST play from scrimmage for their entire season. Yes, I remember when a Toledo team did that against Tulsa on t...

Really, they were physically overmatched from start to finish and this was never a game.

As it figured to be, despite the protestations of the lingering "I was right" crowd.
OL still not top-shelf; and the kicking (shudder).

I'm on 5 for this season; beat Navy and it could be 6 or 7.
But my early forecast for next season is 10 wins. That's our breakout. I hope we have at least a mini-breakout this season, though.

Re: Football Recruiting 2018

Well, CJ's first true class was notably better than Fritz's first true class, given that Fritz's first complete class was one of the worst classes that Tulane has had in recent memory. It was if you go by rankings; but it really wasn't. Several of the lower-ranked players had some pretty good offer...

Re: ( just for Show Me ) CFN's 2017 AAC Crystal Ball

I don't see Tulsa as some insurmountable obstacle. The only reason we didn't beat them in 2014 and 2015 is pinhead coaching and a kicker who chili-dipped a gimme. Last year we got waxed but I don't see them as anyone to push us around. I agree with the sentiment of the article - our running game wi...

Last year we were one offensive play from beating Wake Forest, two plays on offense could have beaten Navy, one first down conversion would have beaten SMU, so a 6-7 win season last year was within grasp with the worst passing attack in the country. We were one play from losing to ULL and two from ...
