Re: Houston Score Prediction Thread

Tulane 37
Houston 30

Our defense is better than what Houston has played so far this season, and their defense is injured.

Might TU have the best D in the league when all is said and done?
Probably Cincinnati, at least as far as scoring def. We're 3rd behind them and UCF after Saturdays ECU game.

I honestly can't even think or talk about this until after Homecoming. This next game vs. ECU has the classic Tulane disappointment / letdown setup. And we all know what has happened in the past.
OK, its after homecoming, and we won. Talk.

Re: BOWL PROJECTIONS

1) Birmingham--$1.6M 2) Tampa (gasparilla)--$1M 3) Boca--$900k 4) Cure--$751k 5) Frisco--$750k it ain't about the "gross" ..it's about the "net" Then Birmingham even more so, as the travel expenses would be less. Probably hotel and meal costs are lower as well.. Also the easiest for fans to get to.

Re: Houston game week info

They may score a lot, but for a team with a player like Ed Oliver on the line, they don't seem to play a lot of defense. I realize he's missed the last three games, but still. As for our defense, you have to admit we've stepped up. We're playing in a league that scores points in bunches, yet the las...

Re: FSU Game Thread

Can't be too disappointed in this. First game of the season for us, but second for FSU, which makes a difference. They beat Florida by 21 in their first game. Need to do a better job with FTs as usual. Sehic disappeared in the second half. Zhang with 24 pts, 7 boards in his debut, including 4-5 from...

Re: Dare We Think

I know beating Houston will be tough, but its not like we're playing Ohio State or Alabama. We've got a 34% chance of winning. We'll need a few breaks to go our way, but that's doable.

Re: Dare We Think

Willie has to learn GAME MANAGEMENT. Very bad GAME MANAGEMENT to be snapping in plays with under three minutes left in game with ten or 15 seconds left on game clock while trying to protect a six point lead. BAD COACHING.... No, that's on McMillan. At one point they even showed Fritz signalling to ...

I would say it is definitely in the realm of possibility for us to win out and smu to lose.
Houston is beatable. Hurts that we lose Patrick Johnson for the first half of the Houston game. after the targeting call yesterday.

Re: ECU GameDay Thread

Yep, McMillan didn’t join the team until late August and yesterday was only his 3rd start. And already, just as for Banks as well, our wide receivers have now dropped a number of perfect passes he has thrown that could have been game changers. Yet, we are now 3-0 for McMillan as starting qb. :D Cle...

. As for since the first game against Wake Forest to present, critical drops by our wide receivers are killing us.
This is true. Both of our last two possessions ended when a WR dropped a pass that would have given us another first. Both were easy catches. That's not on McMillan.

I used to attend the VB matches when I lived in the city but since moving it’s become more difficult. I drove over to BR last time we played LSU on the road. Did you know LSU VB matches are free? Besides that they do heavy promotions. Tulane wants a bigger crowd they should follow LSU’s lead. http:...

Re: When do we make a change at QB ?

Two years was not unreasonable, there was a very specific reason. They didn't want to have him play against them and they knew he had two seasons left. That's why he can't go to an SEC school or anyone on their schedule during 2018 or 2019. He can move if he wants, but those restrictions will still ...

Great column by Jeff Duncan Willie Fitz decision on changing QB’s McMillan could transfer next season and play immediately at an SEC school. LSU blocked him from doing that this year. https://www.nola.com/tulane/2018/11/justin-mcmillan-willie-fritz-and-the-2-decisions-that-saved-tulanes-football-se...

Re: Coaching Changes

It's such an exciting time when you are picking a new football coach. There is so much optimism that the right coach will finally be found to turn around a program that is probably in disarray, and that the AD is serious "this time" in finding a winner. Usually, it turns out to be more of the same:...

This is an interesting matchup....

Chick-fil-A Peach Bowl

Mercedes-Benz Stadium, Atlanta
Dec. 29, noon (ESPN)

Bonagura: LSU vs. UCF

Also looks like the New Orleans Bowl could get a decent matchup for a change:

Appalachian State vs Louisiana Tech.
