Re: AAC Potential non conference upsets 2019

Hard to believe that Houston at N Texas is a bigger AAC non-conf game than Tulane at Auburn.

Re: Weekend Basketball Visitors

Whom has MD put in the NBA? Mel Frazier has had less than a half cup of coffee in the league, and Cam Reynolds is having a nice G=League experience, but hasn't really played in the NBA. How about a recruit that MD has had? Anyone look like they might make it to the NBA? I hear crickets. Anything th...

Re: Weekend Basketball Visitors

I think a lot of people are missing the point. What is it most talented players really want? To play in the NBA. That's it. That's their goal. So if they believe that MD has the ability to improve them individually so they can play pro-ball, they'll come. They could give a rat's ass about whether t...

Re: Houston Crushes Tulane 85-50 makes it 14 straight losses

Like I've said it's the buyout. Tulane can't afford it. How much could the buyout possibly be ? $1m ? Is it possible we get him to agree to move into a senior roll with the program so he can save face and we bring in a young coach for $1.2m ? Similar to what ferry was doing for the pelicans- Dunlea...

Walk-Off Error: https://www.theadvocate.com/new_orleans/sports/tulane/article_218cd2bc-319c-11e9-889c-af71d14a13da.html Interesting nugget in this article: “It’s one game, but It is concerning,” Jewett said. “I was probably most disappointed in the whole thing that he was a little bit sped up emoti...

Where the hell is Muirfield IMG College?
If you were listening to Graff on the broadcast, what you were heard him say was from "Greer Field/IMG College". Must be something IMG has required them to do. Not sure why, because it sounds really stupid and annoying. Does anyone know?

Dunleavy for Pels GM!!
And knowing our luck, he'd decide he wanted to be Pels GM and STILL coach Tulane, and the PTB for both entities would let it happen. #TulaneLuck

Re: 2019 Schedule

He'd still be installing a new system, which would mean his returning players would have a learning curve as well. Or if they promote from within, its someone who hasn't been a DC previously. I just don't see a downside to this. Its not like they fired him for doing a bad job.

Re: 2019 Schedule

I would hope a program can overcome the loss of an assistant coach 6.5 months before the season starts. Just like Urban Meyer's suspension, this will be a non factor when we line up and play in late August. Look at it this way. It can't possibly be a GOOD thing for FIU. Maybe it'll be nothing, or m...

Re: NSD 2019

What I've said is that we can be among the Haves of the G5. Bicoastal agrees and others do too. It is realistic whether you like it or not. And I said I agree with that as well. Among the haves of the G5, is not the same as saying we should be the TOP of the G5, which you imply when you say being i...

Re: NSD 2019

If we win 10+ games 3 years in a row: Yulman will be packed, there will be clamoring for Yulman expansion, we will be in the good position for conference expansion, the angry wave will become the coolest mascot in ncaa and widely acklowdged as such, Tulane will move into the 30’s of US News World t...

Re: NSD 2019

I love how you say that, win. You just throw it out there: "Start winning at the level Boise State did". If it was that easy, don't you think G5s like Houston, Cincinnati, Memphis and others would do it? Boise State's track record as far as winning is several standard deviations above every other G5...

Re: NSD 2019

There were more independents then than now but the great majority of teams were in conferences. D and I are saying the same thing- that we can be dominant in the G5. Due to the conference were in that gives a good chance to be the top G5 and grab the NY6 Bowl Bid that goes to that team every year. ...

Re: NSD 2019

I'll chime in without quoting 5 other posts! I do think it's achievable to become ONE OF THE dominant players in the G5. I don't think it happens in a season or two. You have to tip your hat to Scott Frost and UCF for a quick turn around, but if you look at what George O'Leary did before he quit on...

Re: NSD 2019

Obviously I meant in the rankings era, which is roughly two decades now. I have also been following Tulane for a half century, and there's no way you can compare this to what we recruited 40 years ago. We're not a major independent like many schools were back then. We don't have the pull of a P5. W...

Re: NSD 2019

Aberzombie, I'm not sure being in the top half of AAC would consistently get a 60-70 ranking. This season, there's only three G5 schools in the top 65. The P5/G5 branding has hurt recruiting pretty much to the point that all 62 of the P5 classes get rated higher than any of the G5 classes regardless...

Sorry but that's not the case. Just look upriver at LSU. They have transfers too at more than just QB. It's something everyone is doing now. it just is. More importantly though it doesn't change the fact of the low rating on our HS recruiting which is ultimately the backbone of a program. Also just...

Re: NSD 2019

If you want to do a fair projection to last year, try this. (using 247 for reference) 2018 we had 24 commits factored into the rankings. We finished #70 2019, we had 19 commits, with a rating of .8172, ranking us #94 If you look at Troy, who had 23 commits, with a rating of .8179, they're ranked at ...

Re: NSD 2019

320- Don't others get transfers to? It seems we are always talking about how much more transferring is going on nowadays. I'm glad we got McCleskey . Not sure Knutson will ever make a real contribution on the OL. Montano might. Anderson at LB looks like he could end be a contributor too. We could h...
