Re: Army Game Thread

Army scored two touchdowns in the game. In each case, we responded with a TD on the very next series. Didn't look to me like "falling apart".

Re: Tulane 21 - Army 17

Well, Cincy thinks they're just going to steamroll us. They're fans were trolling my twitter today during and after our game, saying we barely beat Army. Of course they don't want to talk about the 569 rushing yards and 42 points they gave up to Navy. And Navy took a knee inside the Cincy 10 at the ...

I agree, lurker, he made the right decisions even though they weren't what the odds say you should do.

Early 3rd quarter, again in Lincoln.

Rutgers leads Nebraska, 17-14, and our good friend Tanner Lee has offered up another one of his pick-six specialties. At this rate, he may not finish the game, and Mike Riley may not make it through the season.

Re: Tulane 21 - Army 17

Interesting postgame quote by Fritz regarding Banks: "Thought a sensational job by Jonathan Banks on the last series. He made a lot of plays on his own, with his legs and his arm," said Tulane Head Coach Willie Fritz. "He gives you a dynamic at quarterback that gives you chance. We're...

Technically Eaglewave was closest because he was five points off, but can you really win if you pick the wrong team? lol

Re: Tulane 21 - Army 17

Fritz would have been second guessed for not kicking the FG if we missed on the 4th and 1 at the six, but it was the right decision.

Attendance wasn't good, but I think the combination of a Sat 11am kickoff, a boring opponent and the brutal heat scared off some. Student section only had about 3 rows worth of students when the game started.

Re: Tulane 21 - Army 17

Just got back from the game. First and foremost, the heat was BRUTAL. NCAA has all kinds of rules to protect players, well one of them should be no daytime games at Yulman in September. I don't give a crap what the networks say. I think OUG pretty much summed it up. Banks was still hurting coming i...

Every category is going to have its high and low end, P5, G5, FCS, etc. See below. "The takeaway here is that the fact that two programs are both part of the P5 does not mean that they have the same minimum standards and measurements of success ( Alabama, Ohio State, Oklahoma , as compared to I...

Re: Army Game Thread

To "not be able to finish" you need to have a lead late in the game. Other than SMU last year, what games did we lead late that we lost the lead? Sorry but games like Wake Forest last year, or Navy this year are NOT games that we couldn't finish. Those are games we had a CHANCE to win, bu...

Tulane 33
Army 28

On a side note, I'll be at the game tomorrow. I've only made two games since Katrina. Tulsa in the MBSD in 2013, and Southern last season at Yulman. We won both. Let hope that's a good sign.

Its "getting" to the red zone that's the bigger problem.

Re: Women's Golf # 9 in the Country

My point was that years ago, you'd see more small schools listed. Think baseball in the 1980s. Rankings used to be filled with the Tulanes, South Alabamas, Cal-Fullerton, and Wichita States of the world. Eventually the money influx to the P5 schools trickles down to the smaller programs, giving them...

Re: Women's Golf # 9 in the Country

Don't want to burst anybody's bubble or be Debbie Downer, but this ranking apparently comes by virtue of the tourney win. I'm not sure if anyone noticed but that tourney had no P5 participants and only 4 G5 schools (USA, WKU, Troy and UAB). The team also needed (and got) a stellar final round/day t...

Re: Oklahoma 56 - Tulane 14

Right. That's what I said. All the bets were coming in on OU to cover, and yet the spread went down. Not sure how that would entice anyone to put money on Baylor.
