Re: Memphis does it’s part-TU CHOKES Again

Just for everyone who's using Central Florida as a measuring stick: are you aware of just how rare what they're accomplishing is? Do you know how many schools in the American have EVER had a perfect season (no losses or ties)? THREE. Central Florida (1) 2017 Tulane (2) 1929, 1998 SMU (1) 1923 That's...

Re: Memphis does it’s part-TU CHOKES Again

Look at what Cincy's coach did in two years. Tuberville didn't leave the cupboard bare the way CJ did. Cincinnati went to 9 bowl games in 10 years, and got P5 type money for years in the Big East. They had ONE bad season (4-8), and fired Tuberville. Then they brought in a native with recruiting tie...

Re: Memphis does it’s part-TU CHOKES Again

99% of the schools in the country never have and never will have UCF results. Get real. We've had more undefeated seasons than probably 75% of schools in the country. I didn't say we couldn't win immediately with a different coach. We've proven that in the past. We've also proven that success can be...

Re: Memphis does it’s part-TU CHOKES Again

Just so everyone understands, I'm NOT looking for the quick fix like we've had in the past. I'm tired of that. Seasons like 2013, 2002, even 1997-98 were fool's gold, not built on a foundation designed for continued success. I'd rather it take a year or two longer, but actually be a solid enough pro...

Re: Memphis does it’s part-TU CHOKES Again

We're now at the point that next season will determine the direction we go. Unless we win 7-8 games next season, then I believe we'll have gotten as much out of Fritz as we can and it will be time to move on. We said this last year. If you did, it was wrong to say it last year. Two seasons in, star...

Re: Sun Belt Champion Headed to New Orleans Bowl

Go to 8 spots, and guarantee 3 to the best G5 champions, the other 5 to the P5 champions. Don't win your conference, you are out. https://media.giphy.com/media/n8LOaQyDyiEhi/giphy.gif They didn't do that for the two-team BCS (Oklahoma '03, Alabama '11) or the four-team CFP ('bama again in '17) so w...

Re: Decision time....

At the end of the football season a good head coach would realize he has to make a change at offensive coordinator because the current scheme and play calling is simply not working. I fear Fritz is too stubborn and stuck in his old ways to make a change. Hopefully he will surprise us and put the fu...

Re: Sun Belt Champion Headed to New Orleans Bowl

I just dont think they can, D. Yes, officially they can, but in reality they can't. I think there's always going to be someone in G5 with a better resume, whether true or perceived, because of strength of schedule. Its kind of the same argument they use to keep a G5 out of the CFP in the first place.

Re: Houston wipes out the Wave 48-17

I'm no fan of Applewhite's but the rules apply to everyone. I would think with the way Oliver has sat out the rest of the team appreciated what Applewhite did. That would be my thought too. I understand his concern for his future. I also understand he's part of a team and it sure looks like he's pu...

Re: Memphis does it’s part-TU CHOKES Again

I'm not denying his seat is warm going into next year. And I specifically mention that in the last sentence. But I also think people are being unreasonable bordering on mentally ill to think anyone was going to come into a situation like this and have us in the Top 10 in their third season. I didn't...

Re: Sun Belt Champion Headed to New Orleans Bowl

Sorry, Robert but I disagree. IF (and that's a huge IF) an undefeated Sun Belt Conference champion gave Alabama it's only loss, and had another pelt on it's belt, like, say a win over Clemson, they'd get into the ESPN Invitational and play for the MNC ahead of a 1 loss AAC champion. UCF was held ou...

Re: Sun Belt Champion Headed to New Orleans Bowl

Its impossible because there's ALWAYS going to be a team in one of the other 4 conferences that has a much stronger resume. Even a 12-1 Cincy with a loss to Miami OH would still go before an undefeated ULL that beat Alabama. Its the same dynamics as to why a G5 can't realistically ever make it to th...

Re: Sun Belt Champion Headed to New Orleans Bowl

Your response makes no sense. What's contrary about it? Absolutely NOT. An undefeated Cajum team would NOT have had a shot at the CFP, AND would not have a shot at the NY6 game either. SOS kills you. The CFP rankings factor SOS heavily into their formula. If an undefeated UCF team can't make the CF...

Re: WBB Tulane beats LSU 56-54

Better watch out Lady Wave!! If you keep beating LSU in basketball they will discontinue the home and away series just like they did in baseball. Also I remember when the Tulane men’s basketball team under Dave Dickerson beat LSU under John Brady in the Smoothie King Center. After that loss, LSU st...

So realistically, if U LA LA wins the the Sun Belt Conference championship game in future years the best bowl they can get to is the New Orleans bowl? Re: Houston wipes out the Wave 48-17

I’ll never forget watching Tulane practice one day while Tommy Bowden was coach and one of the players must have done something wrong because one of the assistant coaches pulled the player by his face mask up directly into his face and had some choice words for him. Tommy Bowden, Rich Rodriguez, an...

Re: Memphis does it’s part-TU CHOKES Again

And that's why I said, unless the team checks out mentally. Lets be honest, at the start of the season, everyone on the board was focused on a bowl game. Not a one of us even considered competing for the AAC West THIS year. And few if any had Houston on their list of projected wins. Prior to the sea...

If you read the article, he's got some skills we can really use. He's a facilitator. He doesn't even consider himself a scorer. He's liked for his other skills, rebounding, offensive rebounding, assists, blocks. He's not going to put up 30 and 10 like Davis. As one of the articles called him, he's a...

Re: Memphis does it’s part-TU CHOKES Again

Funny they are selling tickets to Navy game for $5 yet they stick it to the alums for Homecoming with $50 tickets. I would not be shocked if we follow up the Houston blowout with a loss to Navy to finish 5-7 with Houston and SMU both losing out as well. I don't see us losing to Navy, unless the tea...

Tulane already offers women's beach volleyball. And softball is no good if you can't play it on campus.

No, wave97, I'm not joking. I'm saying NEITHER one's career is more important than the other. And I agree, get rid of the 3 yrs from high school rule would eliminate that.

If you're pulling mine, you're wasting your time. The only Cajun women's sport I give half a shit about is softball.

So basically, you're a Cajun fan only when they win?
