Re: Baby Isla helps Wave whip Houston 20-17

Agree with Houma. Glad I flew in flew in for this game to watch it with the real fans. Awesome high fives and emotion winning this game. Let it sink in. This is only the second time in 14 years we’ve won 5 games. I’m not sure we should count the bowl year in 2013 since we played football powers Nor...

Re: Colorado State Game Thread

Does anyone understand the format of this "tournament"? We only play two games this week in Jamaica. But already played Brooklyn and will play Miami (oh) and FSU, not in Jamaica later in the season. Leaving Hartford the only team we don't play. Will there be some sort of a championship? T...

Re: Tulane crushes Colorado State 80-53

2/28/77 was in Fogleman. Marquette won 63-44. We've played them 19 times, going 3-16. From what I've checked, I can't find a single game where we played them in the Dome. They're all listed as Fogleman. Games prior to the 76-77 season there was no Dome, and we haven't played games at the Dome since...

Re: Oh what could have been...

Fritz isn't bringing in better talent and than what is leaving. He needs to step up his recruiting game and hire a guy well connected to the Louisiana high schools. In his first two seasons I can't think of a freshman who has wowed me on offense or defense. People keep saying this over and over, an...

Re: Oh what could have been...

We were 4-7 in 1978, 9-2 in 1979. Infante's offense was the difference. It helped. It wasn't the only difference. And a lot of the same players won 7 games in 1980 without him. Yes he made a difference. And I've always been of the mindset that the proper thing was to keep Infante as HC when Smith l...

Re: Oh what could have been...

Infante was also OC in 1976. We were 2-9. Two years in between as a WR coach for the Giants changed him that much? And we were 7-4 (should have been 9-2) the following year without him. By the way, I just checked, we were 4-7 for 1978, not 7-4. And yes, 1979 was all about Lindy Infante. And, the te...

Re: Baby Isla helps Wave whip Houston 20-17

This is pretty much exactly what most of us expected at the beginning of the season. We'd lose one or two we expected to win, and we'd win one or two we expected to lose. Hence, 5 or 6 wins. And here we are, 5-6, with one to go. There are some that will be miserable and say, "we could be 8-3 ri...

I see your point that it was right there for the taking, but good teams step up and take those games. We're not a good team. Tulane 26, Houston 24. We miss an XP, but kick two FGs, including a game winner to stay bowl eligible.

Re: Colorado State Game Thread

Wave look good so far this year. So much deeper than a year ago. We definitely play NBA-style basketball, which is great if you have the depth and athleticism to pull it off. I think we are getting there, but we may pay big for this style against some of the better more athletic teams in conference...

Roll Wave!

We absolutely must put this game in the win column because we lead by 23 at halftime and it would be criminal to blow this lead.

If they're picked 5th in the MWC, either the MWC wont be sending 5 teams to postseason play or we're a heck of a lot better than we realize.

20-4 at the 7:28 time out.

For reference, kenpom.com has us ranked #177, and CSU at #121.

A big step up, considering that LIU-Brooklyn and SLU are #288 and #238, respectively.

I'm surprised no one posted this already, but this is Christian Daniels' Hudl page with some videos. Looks like he's comfortable rolling out to either side. More passing than running in the videos, which should make some posters here happy.
